Paypal account limited
 

Hello.

The issue that I have experienced was: I have sold my personal item which was Ticketmaster gift card. What was left from holidays. I have listed this item on ebay. I have forgot about listing and once i have loged in in my ebay i noticed cos gift card was sold. But unfortenatly i have gave away gift card. So at this point i didnt have gift card what to sell. I have contacted ebay and buyer regarding this and issue refund to buyer. With ebay everything is ok and buyer understand my position as well.
Once i have loged in my paypal account i seen cos my account is limited, and paypal ask proof of ID and proof of shipment ( tracking number ) I have contacted paypal imediatly by phone rgarding this limitation and explained everything. Customer specialis told me, there is no problem, just proveide ID and i will make note about refund.
Today is answer from paypal - PayPal appeal denied ! We regret to inform you that we're initiating the closure of your PayPal account. This measure is necessary to protect us from potential financial losses.
How did you lose money if i already refunded. Never had other transactions, never had any complaints from customers. Exactly what point on that cos you can lose money with me ?

PayPal did not lose money on this occasion, but their first impression of you is that you may cause them losses in the future (due to problematic transactions). I understand you made a single genuine mistake and meant no trouble, but eBay and PayPal have two strong views right now:

eBay care much more for buyers than for sellers, so having to cancel an order with the seller at fault makes the customer less trusting in eBay as a whole in future (which is how they lose out). I myself got banned from eBay just by canceling 1 order, so I'm surprised they didn't do the same to you.

Then with PayPal, they need to trust that your sales will all go smoothly, as it's their pocket on the line when a chargeback/dispute arises (assuming you always withdraw your balance). Therefore, with your first sale going wrong (despite your intentions), they can only assume it's going to be same down the line.

Both made pretty fair and expected business decisions, with the exception that they unfortunately don't care about the story. Starting small and stable is key.

what i know is paypal do not like digital items & gift cards selling .. they keep an eye on selling them & on sellers .. i guess because the transaction was not successful and with some trouble so they caught the chance to limit your account .
