The What If Thread

This thread is so I can get all this hypothetical stuff out of my head and who knows maybe get a few answers along the way. ;) Ever have a question about "what if" on Paypal and were afraid to ask? Tired of being shot down by the "you think too much" crowd? Consider this thread your safe haven to let your curiosity go and ask all your questions that are beyond the norm. :D

So let's see...what to post for the inaugural "what if"....

Got it :)

What if... you remove the address that shows "confirmed" by credit card on your paypal profile as an alternate shipping address? Will the credit card be removed as well, or at the least will your limits come back? I know it's a lesser of two evils thing here, but I just gotta know...what if!

Has anyone tried this and what was the result?

I hope that others will join in and that this doesn't just become a bunch of my questions. But if it is...so be it! You've been warned. ;)

To keep this thread from becoming too confusing, please reference the particular "what if" by quoting or mentioning the poster in your reply.

Thanks :)

what if there are EB and PP spies here and we're all screwed? ;)

DogFacedBoy 09-17-2007 06:15 PM

There is one claiming to be

yoko07 09-17-2007 07:40 PM

lol. A pat on the back and an oatmeal cookie, great imagery my friend.

yoko07 09-17-2007 07:44 PM

what if I made another paypal account to transfer funds to my real account? I've done this before but I think where I made a mistake was I tried sending the funds out right away! So also I would like suggestions on keeping this said "doll" paypal account from being limited. Thanks in advance!

yoko07 09-17-2007 07:54 PM

k, I don't think it was the IP though. Cause my verified one is still safe. I'm going to assume it was the instant sending I tried to do (within a minute of receiving the money). Thanks.

Lol, I just finish eating an oatmeal cookie!

It was good. ;)

JackNoMore 09-17-2007 08:01 PM

Yah, now I'm hungry for oatmeal cookies. Thanks!

Watch this become the "I like oatmeal cookies" thread and grow to 10 pages in 3 days. ;)

I love oatmeal cookies! Especially when they're soft and with a glass of Vanilla Soymilk! What if I didn't like oatmeal cookies? lol

JackNoMore 09-17-2007 09:05 PM

I drink straight from the cow. Pure natural. Good stuff. :D

DogFacedBoy 09-18-2007 10:00 AM

Soy Cows???

Actually, I think the transferring of funds can work, but my advice would be just don't over do it and avoid doing anything that looks orchestrated

yoko07 09-18-2007 10:38 AM

yea I think I got my mistake now. And noo, there are no soy cows! Soy milk is organic! Read up and try some, you'll never turn back. The Vanilla soy milk! Its like a party in your mouth compared to regular milk! lol.

How Soy Milk Is Made

yoko07 09-18-2007 11:31 AM

Yea I think I read somewhere that that was the case. I'm not too worried though, especially since i'm not a woman lol. But also because they said its a risk if your diet is mainly made up of soy. And I'm no vegan or anything, I just can't stand the taste of regular milk :).

yoko07 09-18-2007 11:39 AM

oh btw, lol going on my milk box here, Milk is bad for you! Did you know that Modee? Milk has a certain protein or something that can't be broken down by the human body. And thus it causes long-term harm to your body which incurs certain diseases (don't quote me on that). That's because Milk isn't for humans at all, it's for cows! Let's look at it realistically, Cows milk is really for growing calves. If you are a growing calf, you couldnt drink anything better. But we are not Cows. We're humans...most of us. That's why you don't see as many of those commercials that tell you that Milk builds strong bones...it doesn't! All the more reasons to switch to organic milk hehe. Breast Milk is fine though ;)

aaa1 09-18-2007 12:19 PM

studies have shown that girls are developing faster these days because of the growth hormones given to the cows, which are then passed on to humans via milk and meat.

My daughter will only be given organic, when the time comes!

JackNoMore 09-18-2007 01:00 PM

I don't know where you're reading this stuff, but milk is not bad for you. Anything in large quantities is bad for you, don't blame milk. Yes, it can produce phlegm, but phlegm is a natural product of the body itself and anything the body produces under a regular environment is not going to hurt you. Plus, it binds with other substances to emulsify and help the passing of those substances from the body. It's a natural detox agent. On the other hand, I won't touch soy. Too many bad memories of soy burgers. *shudder* Evaporated milk--if you can stand it--is said to be the best. But then it's always the worst tasting that's best for you eh? ;)

aspkin 09-18-2007 01:09 PM

Look what you started Jack... lol

Maybe I should have an off-topic forum.

JackNoMore 09-18-2007 01:12 PM

Ok Aspkin. You're right, you're right. Ok I'll try to get this back on topic.

Wait, what was the topic?

Oh yeah...

I like oatmeal cookies :)

;)

JackNoMore 09-20-2007 12:27 AM

Anyone know the answer?

What if... you remove the address that shows "confirmed" by credit card on your paypal profile as an alternate shipping address? Will the credit card be removed as well, or at the least will your limits come back?

ebay-sucks 09-20-2007 12:43 AM

Ok I am going to ruin this thread.

I did see mother milks for sale on ebay a number of years back !!!!!
Would be shipped in dry ice and all that stuff.

I love my milk, just like mikey with my life cereal.

JackNoMore 09-21-2007 12:36 PM

An attempt to get this thread back on target...

If Paypal and Ebay are now linked, what happens if you try to send a payment with a previously banned email address to another account but NOT through ebay? Either to yourself or to other people (as far as Paypal knows). Will the account be suspended now or is this still safe?

JackNoMore 09-21-2007 01:46 PM

Restating: If you're sending a payment with Paypal (either to yourself or another persons' account) directly via a previously banned email address (not removed from Paypal) will the account be any more likely to be flagged or suspended now than it was before Ebay and Paypal developed this closer association? Will it now be necessary to remove ALL previously banned email addresses?

Or...is none of this relevant until you start going directly through ebay via checkout or whatever?

I just want to know if Paypal has any use at all anymore or if it's time to pack up and leave Paypal for good. Or at least firebomb old accounts and rebuild from scratch. In which case--why bother?
