Talking to an american
 

Ok I do not mean to sound racist but does anyone have any tricks for getting an american on the phone. Ive just done so much better with them than I have with the outsourced customer service reps. Seems like the only time I can always get an american is if my account is limited. If I ask to speak with a supervisor I just get an phillipinian, or indian "supervisor" who doesnt really help.

Call ebay customer support during their regular business hours and ask to be transferred to a paypal rep. Ebay have direct contacts to Paypal customer service reps located in the USA. From my experience I always get an "AMERICAN". They may ask you for an item # as well.

Not bad but then youre playing with fire with telephone linking. I buy tracfones for all my accounts to have numbers associated in the area where my account is generated and we all know how ebay and paypal like to put you on hold. Is there a non 800 number for ebay?

actually found a way i think. worked 3 times so far. When you call go with the option "claims" i realized before that even when i had a claim number it would still be like "we cant find the status" and just send me to a customer service rep who was always american. So ive been doing that and when it asks if i have a claim number i just say no and everytime I get taken to the american call center.

is getting an american rep better then foreigner?
to me, it seems like the foreign rep. always are wanting to make you satisfied..

i have NO luck with the outsourced reps. they are good if its a policy you know and you just want to get something done ie your item has been delivered and you want your funds released but they have no power to do anything and provide very bad information that can get you limited from my experiences. And its much easier to get a friendly tone going with the americans just because they understand slang/banter etc.

^^^Agreed. The outsourced workers read from a script. They have no ability to deviate from that. Hence problems arise with contact.:tears:
