Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

Hi all,
Paypal has restricted my non stealth (real account) they are asking for supplier invoices for electronic goods sold in January. I do not have invoices as I buy macbooks and iphones from gumtree and shpock that need repair. I fix/repair them then re-sell on ebay for profit.
This happened with my stealth account too. With that one I explained I bought off other auction sites and just re-sold for profit. They did not like that answer so permenantley closed my paypal.
I don't want my real account to go the same way. Any advice on what I can tell them this time, or can someone help with generated the required supplier invoices?

- Give a projection of the volumes you expect to receive each month for

- Do you post from inventory or drop-ship?

Hi,
no it is a business account. I just need to know if I should be honest and tell them I buy from shpock and gumtree to resell on ebay for a profit. Or I should attempt to get supplier invoices to keep paypal happy. Last time I told them I buy from gumtree on a stealth account I had they just permenantley banned from paypal

Is getting invoices something you could help with or would you be able to point me in the right direction of anyone that may be able to help? Happy to pay for this service

Re: Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

It's a tough one. I would say be honest. For the invoices hand write some receipts that you would normally ask for when you pay someone cash and just scan and submit those. And because everything else is real paypal should be happy with that. Just telling them you don't have any receipts or invoices is a definite no. But giving them something is better than nothing.

Let us know how you get on.

can you call them first ? tell them the truth and see what is their reaction?
did they ban you because you bought from Gumtree or because they found out you have a stealth account?
plenty of Ebay sellers buy used goods ,refurbish and resell on Ebay

Re: Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

I can try calling them. I just did not want to give them any info at all until I got some advice here. A friend of mine owns a uk registered business and said he could give me an invoice and say I bought some laptops from him due to his office refurb. This is a legit account with great ebay feedback and did not want to screw it up by doing the wrong thing. I don't think 1 invoice from him though would justify the volumes of repaired laptops I sell. Think I have sold maybe 16 since November all delivered and positive feedback received from ebay customers which equates to over £10k in sales in last couple of months alone

how did you pay your sellers on Gumtree etc?
If they are regular sellers who have access to these used goods, ask them to give you statement /invoice or even listings on Gumtree

That would be a permenant ban
He is fixing electronic devices and offering no warranty
the buyer has 6 month to file a case if anything was to go wrong with it, paypal see this high risk

This.

Plus buying second hand and not having a receipt for it. You could be handling stolen goods ...

Re: Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

plenty of Ebay sellers sell refurbished goods on Ebay, there is even one category for parts and ??scraps where buyers cannot file INAD .
Are they mostly AAPL products?
AAPL now sells on AMZN and AMZN is kicking the third party resellers of refurbished AAPL out,so they are selling on Ebay.

Re: Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

I offer warranty with all apple items I sell. I offer 90 days.
I don't sell than as refurbished. I either sell them as used or for parts if I cant repair.
So basically my account is screwed either way?

Re: Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

it is not all apple items I sell. I often buy electric equipment that is damaged to try and fix and sell on. Such as radio's, printers, coffee machines ect.
Would it be an idea to try and get an invoice from like a auction house and say I bought most items in 1 bulk electronics listing of spares and repairs?

Re: Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

Just make invoices up yourself

Jonnybravo 01-13-2020 08:23 AM

Re: Paypal asking for supplier invoice (second hand goods)

but if I make the invoices wont they check to see if they are real companies I use?
