Default Adding new bank, pp want to deposit and withdraw

Hi,

Trying to add a new bank account to a uk paypal that already has a bank account attached. I get the following message,

By continuing, you agree to let us send 2 small deposit amounts (less than £1.00) and retrieve them in 1 withdrawal.

Could this be because I already have a bank account attached? Usually they deposit a small amount only when I add bank accounts.

I dont want them to withdrawl from my bank account!!

Does anyone know about this and could advise?

thanks

Paypal need to verify you own the account somehow. This is either done by instant verification or by using the deposit method. Unless you have the instant verification method available youll have to do it the other way. No way around it.

Yes usually they deposit 1p with a code which I use to verify.

However now they want to withdraw the deposit... I've never seen this so I'm wondering how to avoid triggering this if possible....
Could this be because I already have 1 bank attached?

So that wont work with a savings account as theres no DD.

I have a feeling it is because the paypals already have an established bank account on them. I never get this when adding a bank account to a new paypal..
Does anyone know?

This is very normal practice. They do this when you add a new bank account.
