1099k mismatch name (solution)
Hi, I just wanted to share the mismatch 1099k issue I believe some people may still be facing. We all have foundation of stealth by nature, so I think when it comes to IRS we all make the situation worse then needed.
For example my structure is llc owned by parent llc. Therefore no subsidiary llc technically has my ownership legally via my SSN. I received a mismatch request and what I simply did was fill out the paperwork and used my stealth name keeping everything else identical to the account.
I believe this occurs when they send the information over as a personal account. This is why the 1099k shows your stealth name not business name. Any business 1099k should always show the business name, unless its reported wrong. My other account always showed my business name on the 1099k and never had this mismatch issue.
Based off my experience if you fill the paperwork out with stealth name use your ein NOT ssn, everything is fine. IRS does not cross check the personal name, only business with EIN. I don't believe this works if you have sole proprietorship.
Best of luck.
