Paypal and bank account

I tried to add my bank account to paypal and got the common error message (not possible at this time, try again later) So I wrote them and I got this reply: "The bank account needs to match the identity that was used to open this Paypal account. No prepaid financials allowed."

I thought Paypal doesn't see bank details, only aba/ account numbers and bank account also doesn't see infos about Paypal.

I dont know why people on this board keep saying PAYPAL cannot see your name on the bank account?
BACK THEN folks have problem linking Paypal account with their bank account as the names do not match,like you are Johnnie Doe on Paypal and bank account is John Doe.
So Paypal removed that check,but it can see your name registered with your bank account

Paypal doesn't like certain banks, and some accounts are more high risk than others.. like i can add chime to one account, but another it won't. same with debits

but do these bank account names match the name of your Paypal account,haveyou tried all of them?

You should read the stealth guide before giving out misleading information. They can't see your name. This usually happens when you try and link a savings account or an account from an online bank. A regular checking account gets the job done everytime! The fact that you're a senior member of this forum and you haven't figured that out yet is beyond me. No hate though

These are all big money center banks ,many Paypal users have linked their bank accounts to Paypal with no problem.
So the problem cant be the bank,it has to do with his account with that bank??

Not true. I tried to link a BOA to fresh stealth yesterday and it wouldn’t let me, no matter what I tried. I’m in US as well.

When Paypal was relatively new ,when one tried to link a bank account and the names do not match exactly,it wont link.
Names like Johnnie Lee and John Lee,no go.
So Paypal stop checking names,but it must be able to see the name on the bank account,that was before it comes up with the 2 small deposits.

whoever told you this information has been lying to you. I linked a completely mismatched name yesterday. I understand what you are saying, but if you follow a strategy, then it will link everytime.

my experience - when u r having problem linking do it via chat and or by calling...they sometimes have lock and they unlock and boom. some banks they do have it on their blacklist or something - totally my experience.
