Hi
1. If you dont add card, not much will happen. You can't shop anymore with your card, and at places where paypal takes the card first to "pre-approve" payments before using the balance, you won't be able to pay. It will make sense to add a new card.
2. Yes you can add any VCC that could work with Paypal. It does not have to be associated wit your current bank account. Same situation in real life, you can have credit card, debit card, all from different services. There is nothing wrong with that.
