PayPal and Subdomains

Hey guys,

My PayPal account got banned for high risk because I was too stupid to select the right option on the "company type" selector. Before it was banned I had a website like "abc.com" set.

If I create a new account on a new machine, IP, legal registered company etc. and select "sub.abc.com" as my website where payments are made, will that account get banned too?

Does PayPal even care about the URL in this case? I wasn't banned for any payments, just because I entered the wrong information.

I think there's more to this than just the domain that got you banned.

What were your activities like and what type of stuff were you selling?

I have not tried sub-domain but I know for a facto primary domain is a linking factor. Take that and do what you will with it.

What does that mean? In German accounts you have many options.

If everything is new and never used in Paypal at least the account info isn't going to create a problem.

Paypal Germany is actually going to visit your website. If you use live traffic stats, you can actually watch them browsing your website to the checkout process. I think their IP whois actually points directly to Paypal Germany (they might use "normal" looking T-Online dynamic IPs now though).

But yeah, they care about the domain. Subdmain might be working, but it's risky, better set up new domains and new VPS with new IP (or Cloudflare reverseproxy). Or you could use a custom plugin for your shopping cart script, which hides refers by redirecting customers betwen real/⊗⊗⊗⊗ shop

Absolutely not. It wouldn't even fly before it was legal for me to drink incohol.

If you must use Paypal, you should consider getting your items ratified past the AUP team.

If you're selling stuff that's in the grey area of if you can't get it past the AUP team, you should see this link discussing the proper setup.
