Violation of Acceptable Use policy = PAYPAL Kept my Funds!

So according to paypal they kept my money and quite a good amount after they first limited my account, and then claimed Violation of acceptable Use policy. certain Items sold were not allowed by paypal to be sold with their payment system.

I am curious if any of you have had luck or methods to get your money back after situatioins like this? It seems somewhat common in the past 2 years for this to happen.

Ive heard of things like contacting them via lawyer, but would this hold up on a stealth account that is obviously not in my name but ficticious name and whatnot.

I have yet to get back onto selling on ebay as my items were in violation of their policy, YET they allowed these specific items to be sold for many years despite it being an item they claim to not allow.

Havnt heard of anyone with a stealth acct getting their money back when that happens.
There is currently a move by several individuals to get a class action against paypal for this new method of thievery theyre employing (and it realy is nothing short of outright thievery).

that's the AUP violation... it means they are taking your money and nothing you can do about it. It's like what cops do with civil asset forfeiture.

Basically robbery

Hope the lawsuit grows with participation

Before giving up, you may try having a lawyer write up an official looking letter of intent to sue, maybe mention the class action in it ;)

Price of lawyer might hinder effort

Yes and in this case you don't need to break the law, just need to break PayPal extremely broad AUP and they now have the right to seize everything.

See a company selling yoga pants online using PayPal? Think you can compete with them and sell 10% cheaper? Well that's a breach of PayPal AUP Policy and we're taking your money and closing your account down. You can't do anything about it. Due process? Not at PayPal.

That's what's going on in "some" cases.

The lawsuit is so important to put an end to private financial institutions from getting around the banking system loopholes. If we don't then soon PayPal will cancel you as well and try to get you fired from your job or try to seize all your money in your bank account or max out your card attached to your account. Alternatively and more realistic they could just start seizing your family member accounts related to you to cover your AUP fines. Not like we haven't seen that happen before just not a large scale.
