California FTB Notice due to wrong Paypal 1099
Today I got a letter in the mail from California FTB claiming I owe tax from the year 2017!
I looked in our records and see a 1099 from gaypal has an incorrect California address that our tax preparer must have entered by mistake - I have no clue where he got that address from - we have never been to California or had any physical addresses there. Should we close our wells Fargo to prevent a levy or? This is our first notice of this and had no idea until now. From the net it seems we are not alone - others have received letters due to having virtual office addresses in California. Now I see why some ppl want California to slide into the ocean! Have also considered closing all bank accounts and using prepaid cards to pay for online bills, but I'm sure they can levy those as well as they have my SSN....
