I haven't used paypal for almost 2 years since my account was perma banned.
If I needed to buy something I'd get a family member to do it.

Today I probably did something stupid. At checkout, it gave the option to use my card but then I couldn't check out as a guest and prompted me to make an account. I was feeling particularly impatient at the time and couldn't be bothered to go through my family member. So I created the account to pay.
I planned on just closing the account or whatever later tbh.

I am sorta worried my relatives account will be affected by my decision though. Is there a chance they will be flagged? (we live in the same house) am I being paranoid?

When it comes to payment for goods PayPal does not care if you open a new account for purchase so your family members account should be OK, however if you try using PayPal for selling then you may endanger the other account.

Unlikely to be an issue as a one off especially if it was just used to buy items with nothing else

Do you think it would be risky to leave it open just for making payments every so often? Or is it not worth it

I dont see it being an issue. Just dont use it to make sales

Being paranoid is good. Most people are too lazy and reckless by choice.
