Why is PayPal doing this?

Hello all.

We’ve stopped this payment to keep you safe

I have noticed something why is pp not letting people send payment?

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

You have to tell us more, what is the payment for and who is the sender>Did he buy something from you and where is he?
You will not know what is the source of his payment, that could be a problem

Paypal only has your safety in mind, they are like your personal guardian angel :heh:

Why are they doing that though it just doesn’t make sense.

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

this is done by anti fraud , it is hard to tell why as you did not specify if it was from paypal to paypal or from paypal to outside or to paypal from outside

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

Paypal has many fraud alerts-your sender could have a bad reputation,he could be making multiple purchase at the same time,he could be buying items which can be easily converted back to cash,he could be using virtual cards, gift cards, cards issued by ??
He could have just open his Paypal account ?He could be from a certain country?
You can call PAYPAL and ask.

All the above comment is relevant except "call Paypal and ask" - that is a waste of time and potentially problematic for the pp account

I sell items to people who buy and few people have tried sending payment with F&F option and pp has refused to send.

I doubt it’s not that causing the problems.

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

new paypal accounts should be treated the same way as new ebay accounts

safety on paypal can only be created if many accounts are used at the same time so open 50 accounts and switch between them , a couple of hundred quid there and here will not make a difference then

why should a buyer send F & F for purchases and get no buyer protection?
Unless you are giving them a discount and Paypal earns nothing

F&F option is tripping security flags when abused for purchase sale...looks like you're trying to circumvent fees - listen to murdered, good post about switching etc

Because PayPal holds funds for 21 days and sometimes they ask for proof and I haven’t got that sort of proof to provide to pp, and also buyers can open a dispute at any time and I don’t be checking all the time in the pp account to see if they opened a case.

Do you keep using the F&F option?

If so it's abuse and they'll eventually nail you

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

FF is no problem if 1-3 payments come within a month , I have some older paypal that have not been actively used since paypal was scrapped on ebay and I was not suspended a single time for receiving FF payments and those payments were comparatively large , about $500-$1500 each

These have to do with your business model, you are denying Paypal to earn a fee for services provided.
Soon,Paypal could restrict your account,I would not abuse it

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

Yeah I think it really matters the scale of the orders coming in. I will occasionally get a F&F for something I sold, but I don't generally do it. If you can't set your email reminders up when someone disputes you via PP maybe you shouldn't be doing this? It's your business, treat it like one!

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

If you constantly get F&F payments and they come all over the world from different Paypal accounts, highly possible that you can get flagged, as agent said above - because the algo labels you in avoiding Paypal fees for business payments.

You get quite a few disputes on the regular?

Re: Why is PayPal doing this?

I generally just shy away from any FF payments.
It's not worth getting suspended over.

I'm using their service so it's right to pay them

That's actually decent of the buyer to send it as F&F without you asking, it seems...but smart not to abuse that option
