10 years old Stealth Indonesian PP, stuck in password reset loop

Hi,

I have one Indonesian stealth account since almost 8-10 years. Since 8-10 years I am using same cookies and browser and use same Tuxler VPN to login and make transactions.

Everything seems fine but one week before when I received usual payments from some companies (receiving payments from same company since 4-5 years) then I tried to login by my usual method but I was asked to change password for security reasons. I tried to change, got PIN at email, entered PIN but then instead of password reset page, another and only option "Get SMS" appears however I don't have access to that mobile number which was used 8-10 years before.

Then I waited for 24 hours and tried again but same result. However when I tried to deposit funds via another site like Hosting site or Donation site then I get message "Welcome Back! We recognize you on this device" and I was also able to deposit $10 at hosting account. At this stage when session was active and my PP account was in logged in condition, I also tried to open dashboard or other pages directly by pasting urls but again I get that username/password form.

Then I waited for almost 4 days to get out of this security loop but today again same results. Again today when I tried to deposit funds through one hosting website I got message "Welcome back! We recognize you on this device ...".

Please help me how can I reset password when I don't have access to that mobile phone and its stealth account. I am avoiding to call or contact help center because they can ask for further documents which I don't have.

How to get out of this security-loop and reset password. If I get into this once then I would like to add one mobile number and also update VCC.

PS: I don't have any idea how PP support deals with kind of problem that's why I am hesitating to contact them.

You could try logging in from another browser but without access to the phone number, I don't think it'll work. Calling is probably the only thing that may help.


To be clear, you're able to make payments using the balance but you can't login to your dashboard?

He is not the only one who leaves a dead cell phone number in his account,why cant they take care of their paypal account by removing a dead phone and replacing it with a working one?
Paypal doe snot do business in Pakistan,do you think it has found out you are actually in Pakistan ?

What do you mean? This is the primary email set at Paypal, just received PIN as usual, entered PIN at paypal website but then again at next step I was asked for sms verification.

Yes, first day, I was able to deposit $10 + $15 at one hosting account (After when I saw Welcome Back! We recognize you ....) but can't open standard dashboard, even I tried to open different pages directly like summary, profile, etc.

No, not at all. I always use same Firefox browser and always use VPN, verify ip at tracemyip.org site and then login. And this is working smoothly since 8-10 years.

8-10 years before I created around 10-15 Asian and European accounts by creating different browser profiles, regularly updating vcc and provided identity documents for verification and all goes well. Just phone number was the only thing which I left because 8-10 years before getting sms verification phone number was not so common/easy.

Few years before I abandon European accounts because Paypal started to ask for SMS verification on each login attempt but Asian accounts keep working.

So what's the solution now, is there any way to contact to Paypal help line via email or support ticket? If yes, then can they ask documents again?

Updating phone number should be easy with excuse that I no longer have access to that old phone number. What would be PP reply with this excuse?

I have $1600 stuck in this account.

I never tried to login from totally different browser and always kept logging in from same old browser where original cookies/cache is stored.

Should I give a try by logging at new browser?

Or any website where I can make deposit and the utilize funds.

You can try buying something on EBAY and pay with your Paypal fund?

Today again first I tried to login as usual and got same "password reset" message. Then I left that tab open, opened new tab and again tried to load funds in hosting account (where I was successful two times) and also tried to buy something from other site. Again I got same message "Welcome Back! We recognized you ...." when I was redirected from other sites to Paypal site and when I tried to process further then I was asked username and password and then same old story .....

So basically at first attempt I was able to deposit funds twice in hosting account and after that two deposits, this method also don't work now.

Might be trying new browser is the last attempt before I contact with Paypal. During last 8-10 years since I have created this account, I never tried to login in different browsers, always used same browser where originally cookies were generated.

Any tip to move forward please!

Sometimes things like this can happen if your browser is out of date.


Only other option besides messing around with your browser is contacting Paypal customer service.

Paypal is always making changes ,what works before may not work now.
may be your VPN is not good enough??

wser(s),if that fails,you have no choice but to call Paypal.
Come to think of it,Paypal does not do business with Turkey,someone tried to access Paypal claiming he is not from Turkey,that does not work either.

Then he has to be smart about the way he contacts PP - some logical things don't have to be told to the OP...he should understand

Why not slowly drain the account over time on hosting or whatever you're using it for.. then switch to a new account with a new phone number?


You're lucky to be able to use the balance at all.
