I will send you a separate invoice via Paypal and you can pay me directly. Don't worry - you'll still be covered under Paypal protection."

This works about 99% of the time.

That's pretty smart.

I have noticed after passing 4 21 day holds my paypal accounts are stronger i have 3 paypal all new and havent done the initial submit documents procedure which is usually required after you receive a large sum of money. Instead of a limitation i got the hold on all 3 accounts submitted the tracking numbers and received positive feedback for others so it was automatically removed. After speaking with someone from the limitation department i really think she put something on my account to prevent it from limitation because i passed the earlier holds which were very high priced. I have been receiving a consistent high daily amount and clearing my account every day to minimum $50 balance for about 2 weeks without limitation, i mean i do have the documents ready but im just so surprised they are letting me withdraw this much on an account thats about 1 month old.

Are you recommending to call the Limitation dept. after you have cleared around 4 holds?

Why did you call them?

I had a 21 day hold as well. It was my first and I was shocked when I saw it come up in my PP acc. On top of that, the buyer had an uncomfirmed addy in Australia. The sale was for a bit over $400.00. I took a leap of faith and sent the item and thank God, the buyer was happy with the item. I then received a Release of Funds email from PP.

Payment Status: On Hold - Post now

Anyone else experiancing this? For 9 out of 10 of the recent transactions i have recieved i am getting this message,

Post now
Payment Status: On Hold - Post now
What should I do now?
Post to this address:

*******

Please post the item right away. We'll release the funds when one of the following occurs:

* you receive positive feedback from the buyer
* it's been 21 days since the payment date and you haven't received a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction being held

That has happened to me before. Is your ebay and paypal account new?

jerkyboy1 08-04-2008 09:48 PM

even if you're a new user you should be getting that only about 20 to 30% of the time. At the rate you're receiving that message you must be selling really risky stuff or seen as very risky.

brownlad 08-05-2008 04:38 PM

hmm the goods i sell are between £120-£200 and are seen as reliable so i guess that the reason. Ive read on paypal that after you recieve over 20 detailed sellers ratings you wont be held for funds anymore. But are all funds until then likely to be held or just from time to time :s

jerkyboy1 08-05-2008 11:23 PM

It also depends on if you're selling internationally or not. On my new accounts when selling internationally I got the holds about 20% of the time but on all domestic sales I haven't received any holds.

bbcoach 08-06-2008 09:51 AM

Modee: "If the account is created improperly, you get that sort of hold. None of my newer accounts have received any kind of hold like that."

What do you mean by "improperly"????

jerkyboy1 08-06-2008 02:57 PM

meaning anything which doesn't add up, throw up flags, or draws attention due to total blatant errors of information or anything really.

jerkyboy1 08-06-2008 07:00 PM

haha. yes. you need to always be on top of your game with ebay and pp; evolve with new techniques!

Exeneva 08-13-2008 07:35 PM

There is a way, but I will not post it in public.

doughboykilla 08-13-2008 07:49 PM

you can PM it to me i wont post it publicly

ebayhateluv 08-13-2008 09:45 PM

HI Guys:
Please tell us all:
Some of the reasons for getting the 21 day hold??
Ive never gotten it..
I understand its only enforced when your fb gets below 95%, or when you have alot of chargebacks/ high risk sales??
NO?

doughboykilla 08-13-2008 10:00 PM

No i noticed when i listed items that got reviewed by ebay i never had a hold but i recently found out how to list a item and it lists instantly but now i get holds on my paypal u cant win without loseing.

all my accounts have good feedback but i do list risky stuff i will test it out some more with new ids and paypal accounts

jerkyboy1 08-14-2008 01:52 AM

the 21 day hold can be put on any account. We can speculate on how they decide to place the hold on one account vs another but their are too many variables and so many seem to contradict each other in terms of peoples personal experiences and theories.

jerkyboy1 08-14-2008 01:58 AM

Some factors not including all which could result in a hold be putting in place by pp:

-high priced items or reception of high dollar payments
-international sells vs domestic
-(unknown) percentage of total amount of separate payments received or sells by unique buyers
-old account vs new vs verified sales that possibly factor in(unknown)
-Red flags or inconsistencies on the account
-high counterfeited items vs normal low risk items
-recent claims or history of selling or tendencies which could result in a high risk tag by PP

Feel free to add my head can't think straight right now when I'm tired

doughboykilla 08-14-2008 08:33 AM

Yeah i can almost bet it was a higkrisk items that cause the holds :(

newdenim 08-14-2008 10:44 AM

i have also been getting the 21 day hold, infact all my items i sell are 150-450/usd items.. but something i found out! if you print shipping label through paypal.. the hold authomaticly release your funds once the package has been delivered... i mean quicker the customer recive there package the quicker the funds are released... thats just my experience...

philly387 08-14-2008 11:06 AM

denim you are right. The funds are released between 1-3 days after the customer has received the package.
