Checkout Integration Solution Hi Guys, I already hired a programmer to automate the process of checking out and paying through ccnow, I don't want to have to send an invoice for every sale, let alon the hassle of combining multiple orders, so I created a single checkout page where the eBay buyer goes and only enters his eBay ID (not password), the system will then "pull" he sales or items he won, calculate shipping, and take the buyer to ccnow (or 2checkout) to pay, if anyone here would like to share the cost and the system with me please let me know, please note that the sytem will have to be customized to your needs, for example the way shipping is calculated differs from one seller to the other. Let me know.

| kevinxu | 04-01-2008 07:54 AM | about ebay auto checkout If i dont choose the ebay auto checkout option then ebay wont send the buyer any invoice with paypal payment button after items end? |
| love2hate-ebay- | 04-01-2008 09:14 AM | Problem with getting buyers to pay when using a system other than EBAY/PayPal I had some auctions end on ebay and i sent a invoice to the winners from google checkout but no one is paying or even responding to my messages to them. Is this happening to anyone else? |
| viking23 | 04-01-2008 09:26 AM | I had the exact same thing happen to me 3 times in a row and posted a message on here about it.
Everything must be beautiful with Google checkout for others on here, because there wasn't much of a response. |
| love2hate-ebay- | 04-01-2008 09:30 AM | I alos offered them a choice to send money order and still nothing :( |
| viking23 | 04-01-2008 09:45 AM | Try having it happen 3 times in a row!:D
I have no confidence in these buyers paying outside of Paypal.
Ebay has become alot of work and not much real security in knowing whether you will be able to keep you're $ (Paypal). |
| love2hate-ebay- | 04-01-2008 10:01 AM | Crap that would suck! So what did you do? |
| ebayhateluv | 04-01-2008 01:37 PM | Some buyers just wait till day 7 for some reason? |
| love2hate-ebay- | 04-01-2008 01:42 PM | I hope that is all they are doing because i cannot even get them to respond to me |
| mjstallion | 04-01-2008 01:55 PM | I am having the same problem. I gave up on sending out Google checkout invoices.
Instead I am copying the link from Google Checkout Invoice and putting it into my own checkout email that I copied from Auctiva.
But still no responses after 3 Buy It Nows! |
| Killed by Ebay | 04-01-2008 02:35 PM | I use Google all the time and i dont have problems outside the few non paying bidders that you would get even using paypal |
| thelizardking | 04-01-2008 03:58 PM | I have had no luck with Google Checkout, but buyers seem to not have a problem with Ccnow... |
| mjstallion | 04-01-2008 04:13 PM | lizardking
do your auctions say that you offer merchant account payments only, or do they also say you offer paypal and you then send them a ccnow invoice? |

| aspkin | 04-01-2008 04:31 PM | Good thread... keep it going... :) |
| highwhey | 04-01-2008 04:54 PM | You can state that there may be a 21 day delay due to Paypal's new rule(the rule where they can hold your money for 21 days) show them the link that explains this...this should work since you're not bashing paypal, but merely stating the facts ;), you can also show them part of Paypal's TOS where they clearly state that they are not a bank. |
| TMiles | 04-01-2008 06:12 PM | Paypal does not charge fees to refund. In fact, they refund the Paypal fees on any transaction you send back to buyer. |

I really stay on top of it tho. I make sure im there waiting when the auctions end and I list daily instead of a ton ending all at once. My listings are more quality than quantity so its easier for me to stay on top of things. I also message bidders towards the end and let them know to wait for an invoice.
Here is my procedure HOW do I send a CCNOW INVOICE??? |

That does not help. Buyers will simply hit the pay now button and considered the transaction over. They're not going to check their emails for your invoice. You'll have to state in your auction to wait for an email invoice from you and pray they read this and actually take it seriously. |
| thelizardking | 04-01-2008 11:36 PM | I do state that in my auctions, that should go w/o saying Ballsack...common sense stuff...I don't have to pray I just have to be good at what I do...
Some do just checkout...maybe one or two out of every 10...but like I said im there waiting for them to do it...refund...se-send...they notice |
| Jonas | 04-03-2008 03:25 AM | I find most email to buyers gets sent their spam folders and even when it doesn't they tend not to check their email. |
| simoneo | 04-03-2008 02:16 PM | want to sell without paypal hiya im setting up a sellers account on ebay
but i dont want to use paypal as a method of payment
can i still open a sellers account without using paypal at all
i only want to be payed in cheques or postal orders |
| thelizardking | 04-03-2008 02:47 PM | Take a look through the boards, this is an easy one to find. |
| frustr8ed | 04-03-2008 05:10 PM | Is it? In the UK they have introduced a policy whereby all accounts must have a verified PP account linked (not sure if they have this in the US).
I KNOW that doesn't mean that you have to accept it on your auctions, at the moment, but after the end of April all UK sellers MUST accept Paypal as a payment method on ALL auctions.
Everybody knows that if you offer Paypal 90% of buyers will use it! |

| josipk | 04-23-2008 05:10 AM | accepting payments - alternatives to PayPal since ebay will require you to accept payments thru paypal only soon what are the best options to avoid paypal.
I see 2checkout.com is offering paypal payments so I was wondering if anyone is using 2checkout.com for their ebay sales as I see they don't allow any auction sales to be procsses thru them.
what is the best way to go,. |
| kevinxu | 04-23-2008 10:51 AM | Technically I must accept PayPal - how do I steer buyers away from PayPal payments? i've decided to use google checkout and ccnow to receive money and i have to put a paypal account when i list items as ebay requires, how should i say in the listing i dont accept paypal and dont pay to that paypal account?
i remember in some post, someone said ebay suspended the account when he put i dont accept paypal in the listing. |
Can't you just say in the description that buyer can purchase this item but must wait for the check out instructions for faster service?
And you can also use Vendio.
It automatically can send email to those who are bidding on your items. You can edit those emails and put some information in it about payment methods, etc.
It is called Buyer Appreciation. * Drive more sales through cross-promotion–Vendio will send customized "Thank You" e-mails to bidders on your behalf that also cross-sell your other items. You can also promote specials like combined shipping discounts and free gift wrapping.
* Reduce your unpaid bidder rate–Your automated e-mails will validate bidders' contact information, with "bounced" or undelivered e-mails identifying potential unpaid bidders. Your early contact also solidifies buyer relationships, making bidders more inclined to follow through with payment and positive feedback.
* Increase your communication feedback–eBay's new feedback system includes scores for your communication. Buyer Appreciation maximizes your chances for positive feedback by communicating with buyers at first contact. |
| rosie | 06-11-2008 11:29 AM | is there a way to remove the automatic paypal check out option? I'd like buyers to wait for my auction but they never do. They always always pay me with paypal then say sorry they didnt read all the details. |
| daowen | 06-11-2008 01:44 PM | Put something in your invoice (that is customize your invoice) and say "You have options to pay. I offer discounts for Non-PayPal payments". Or put in it "Save on shipping, check this link..." and put up a link saying if you pay by any means other then PayPal shipping will be discounted by (put amount here, not a percentage).
You may find people using it often.

| Killed by Ebay | 06-11-2008 02:50 PM | I charge $10-$20 for shipping with my items. so this might not work if you have shipping prices between $3-$5
At the top of my listing in big letters i state that I offer free shipping on all my items and to email me to find out how. Almost all my buyers email me to find out how to save money. The ones that dont and pay with paypal are usually people with 0-3 feedback score |
| HateEbay | 07-07-2008 09:10 PM | My stupid buyers just want to pay with Paypal Ok, I've had 7 sales without being paid, one after another. I use Google checkout right now. Hum, three of them wrote to me saying they would only pay with Paypal, if I don't accept, they won't pay. The rest just ignored the invoice. I guess they backed out when seeing Google invoice because they don't want to disclose their credit number.
As a matter of fact, I don't offer Paypal on my listings at all . Just stupid buyers who are brainwashed by Paypal never read.
Should I make a headline on my listing clearly stating that
I DON'T ACCEPT PAYPAL. PLEASE DON'T BUY IF YOU INTEND TO PAY WITH PAYPAL.
I wonder if this will draw Ebay' s attention though. Any idea? |
| jerkyboy1 | 07-07-2008 09:16 PM | hi. I understand your problem but what you must understand is PayPal has become the standard and anything but it will be looked at as shady. As far as PayPal and eBay is concerned you must accept PayPal as a form of payment so I would suggest ccnow.
Putting in large text that you don't accept PayPal will probably get you suspended or reported by a bidder or competitor or who knows. ccnow is recommend and try to get as many as you can to pay, but if they will not budge then just accept paypal directly there is nothing else you can do. |
| aspkin | 07-07-2008 10:16 PM | Try CCNow, your buyers can still use Paypal to pay, but the money will reach your CCNow account instead. |
| HateEbay | 07-07-2008 11:46 PM | I've been loooking at CCnow. The only thing is CCnow costs an arm and leg. Is this the only service that takes Paypal payment? Oh poor sellers. |
| John14789 | 07-07-2008 11:50 PM | Even though ccnow costs a bit more it is easier to convince buyers to pay using it. I don't think there are any cheaper alternatives that accept paypal for you without you having a paypal account. |
| jerkyboy1 | 07-08-2008 12:22 AM | It is really not that expensive considering you really don't have all the hassle of PayPal and the lack of professionalism that PayPal shows on a consistent basis. $5 out of every 100 doesn't bother me a bit. The only thing that bothers me is when you start doing currency exchanges and then we're talking about 10.5% of your total payment received. |
| John14789 | 07-10-2008 12:07 AM | Ok I just read this whole thread and I have two questions:
Now ebay requires all accounts with less than 100 feedback to accept paypal so I just make a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal account and then accept payments through ccnow.
Is there any better way to do this then the above listed since some idiot buyer will go ahead and pay to that ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal account?
If the buyer does pay and I refund him wouldnt and say about 10 people do the same thing as this buyer has done wont paypal limit the account since so many refunds are being issued? |
| John14789 | 07-10-2008 01:25 PM | Can someone answer the above post. I need to know because my first auction with the aspkin ebay account is ending today. |
