ING - Appears good again
 

As an attempt to test, I created a brand new PP account last night and used ING as the bank account to verify. It was taking PP 5-10 minutes to limit accounts using ING for bank account. This new account is still up and running 14 hours after I opened it. I am waiting on the 2 small deposits to verify.

I doubt they limit any accounts linked to a specific bank anyways.

regarding ING
they took the savings account that I misspelled IGN ( honest !!! it was a mistake !)
they denied the checking that I tried to add so it looks touch and go on ING

And ING does indeed still provide the capability to open (additional) savings sub-accounts on the fly?

ING deposits showed up. PP account is verified.

I don't know if this is of any help to anyone, but the branch manager at my local bank of america told me that I can open and close as many checking and savings account as I like. Once you have the first account setup online it is really easy to go in and create additional accounts whenever you want to. I haven't created a new account with them yet other than my business and personal, but it can be done.

Also, if you setup the My Access checking account online there aren't any monthly fees. So if I understand correctly you can have unlimited free checking accounts as long as you open them online.

everyone who has a checking account with their local banks or online banks may have unlimited amount of checking accounts. But a quick question, when transferring money from paypal to your checking account, does your bank see the name associated with the paypal account. My paypal is not my name, but can the bank see that the deposits coming in is not under my account name. Just curious if anyone knows.

That must only be true for larger banks because the smaller local banks only allow one personal account and one business account per business name. The will allow multiple saving accounts, but not multiple checking. This is why I drive 25 miles to the nearest town with a bank of america and do most of my banking online.

Yes, ING account on paypal created saturday and as of today the paypal account is still fine.

I wondered about Wamu on this. Didn't want to go crazy with the number of accounts with them. I now have two checking/savings combos. I wanted to see how difficult it'd be to create the second set, and it wasn't difficult at all. PRetty straightforward, since they already have you confirmed with the first set. The initial deposit delays, of course, are a nuisance, which is why ING's sub-account feature is king, but it's cool to hear that one can have an unlimited amount of accounts with Wamu in general.

In the past the My Access checking was only free if you had a direct deposit into it each month. But as of a few months ago the My Access checking is free with no direct deposit requirement as long as you open it online. If you are already signed up for online banking then you can open a new account with just a few mouse clicks. When I did this for my business account it was a little more involved since it was for a business, but it was still a short simple process. The only difference was I had to fax in my business docs. (I do have fees for the business account, but I can open as many free My Access accounts as I want)

i just got an Orange Savings account up an running with ING. But how do you get another account number through them. Do i have to call them up or is everything done online. thanks

Everything is done online with ING. Once you are logged-in to your first/main account, you can create another account w/a nickname. Although you log-in with ING using 1 account & 1 account number, the other accounts appear under the main with different account numbers.

I created a new eb and pp account last Thursdat using ING and as of today no problems, verified fine for me so far. Two deposit went ok and so far its a go. Can change anytime but we all know that.

I reied to add ing to my paypal account.. I added it. The next morning my accoutn was limited again. So far ING is still not working for me.

I had no problem withdrawing pp money to my inq account recently and it was for a fairly large sum. Something to think about is the age of your ebay account. Might have allot to do with it. ?

It doesnt affect acounts that have ING already verified. I still have ING working on a couple accounts before they started banning them. I got limited on 2 accounts so i stopped using ING. Then the post are saying its good to use again. I added a new ING account and got limited the next morning. and within 3 hours my ebay account that i accepted that paypal for got a temp limitation until i verfied my phone number. I will try again on a new paypal account in a couple days. but if your linked paypal account get limited. I would assume ebay might make you verify your phone number with a pin.

please do keep us up to date if your new one will work.

Ok. I just logged into my paypal account to see what kind of limitation i received after adding the ING account. I only have to verify my deposits and link a credit card to my account. I will do it and give update if my account is unlimited.

I opened a new paypal account yesterday with virtual name.

I opened a new bank account with ING Direct, and used one of my credit card that I have.

Today, I have this message:

# May 14, 2008: Unusual account activity has made it necessary to limit account access until additional verification information can be collected.

They're asking me to confirm my SSN, bank account, four-digit PayPal code for Visa Card, and Location.


So, does that mean ING isn't working? What am I going to do if they want me to verify a SSN that I don't have?? Should I call them and make up some kind of story where I can't give out SSN because I'm afraid of identify theft?

I don't know why you were asked for SSN. Mine was like fonaga as it only asked for the 2 deposits and to put a card on file. Took me to the damn resolution center. I will get the deposits on Monday so will update. Anyone had any luck getting unlimited after confirming deposits and location.

please name dates of when it worked because today it works tomorrow it don't.. I think something have changed with paypal i dont know what yet. So i hear that ING no longer works for new paypal accounts. or maybe is not ING is just paypal increased security and asking for all information right away

I used ING yesterday to set up a new account. (mind you , I do not attempt to use the account until I am verified & confirmed) I also paid the $1.95 to confirm my virtual address with my Simon card by reading off the xxxx number before the Paypal charge on the statement so that I may lift the $500 withdrawal limit. 6 hrs later Paypal called me to make sure I used the Visa card then limited me because of unsual use of my credit card (what a joke). To lift the limitations I needed to get the automated phone call and plug in the in the PIN they gave me(another joke, because the Paypal monkey just called me on the same number!) The limit was lifted and 36 hrs after first opening the account I am now VERIFIED & CONFIRMED. ING is OK I would say, but expect a limitation that is easily lifted with the steps above. No SS # needed for now. I will start to sell in the account shortly.

are you using your real name for paypal? and for the bank?

1. if you had a paypal acct suspended or closed, what do you do to use paypal and this bank?

2. paypal will ask for you ssn. if you are using a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name, or you are suspended or closed from paypal, then what?

3. if you are using a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name for ebay, and then you have to fax you real merchant account, won't they see your real name on merchant acct vs ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name on ebay?

4. how would you collect money and use it into a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name acct?

read the forums and find those answers...I am using my "virtual" name for everything except the bank.
