Paypal case SNAD...need input please
 

I sold an item at $400 the item arrived in the US. The buyer is now stating there was only half of the amount o arrive. I sent 20,000 of xxxx and they are saying they only received 10,000 of xxxxx

they have asked for a $200 refund. I have not replied as of yet. Does any one know how I can win this?

Does the weight match up?

The weight on my recept matches what I sent, but there's nothing on the tracking when he signed for it showing the weight he signed for.

The item got delivered to a neighbours house and he had to get the police involved as the neighbour wouldn't give him the package. I have all this on email.

There does NOT have to be,,,The post office recipt/Label will have that Info as well as the Tracking on it

Just so you Know I did WIN a SNAD Case a Couple of years ago based on the Package Weight,,so don't just give in so easily,,

Me too.... This is one little thing that scammers seem to forget. Do not under estimate this little jewel....

Right the guy has escalated the case already.

If I take the option for him to return the goods for a refund and he only returns half where do I stand. Does PP give the refund immediately after he uploads the tracking number?

I have written to PP as I have no option to contact them via the case and told them I have the shipping receipt showing the weight and also the shipping cost which is the same as I charged the guy. I also have another recept from a previous order from him of the same item showing the same weight again.

How did you win the case on weight?

Make Sure that you can PROVE to Paypal that:

(1) The EXACT Weight of the amount Product that was Purchased
(2) that the weight & tracking Number of the Package match the product weight
(3) The buyer own E-Mail admitting that they did indeed recieve the product that they ordered, Only Not all of it. (This is so Paypal KNOWS that the Buyer likes the actual Product)

I have actually found an EMS recept from 2010 from the same guy ordering the same item. i also have the Paypal invoice from then that is just a duplicate of the one last month.


I now have EMS recept from 2010 showing item, tracking number and also the weight. I have an email from him stating the item was delivered to a neighbours house when the tracking from USPS shows that it was his signature that signed for it and not his neighbour. Also email saying he's please wit the product but blah, blah, blah.

Paypal have asked me to FAX them everything which i will today with a covering letter...I'll let you know how it goes!

Probably bit more time needed.

No news as of yet, the case says its being reviewed by a 'specialist' and they'll get back to me before June 26th !!!

Now they have gone back to the buyer and asked for more information.

That Almost ALWAYS happens,Paypal gives the Buyer EVERY Possible Opportunity, Hopefully the Buyer will Not be able to produce what paypal is looking for...

Update:

Paypal have asked the buyer to return the goods for a refund, shipping paid for by him. I am hoping he's used the product, as its disposable, and can't send it back. i also don't want a brick in a box. Wouldn't put anything past him. Hopefully he won't want to pay the $65 doller shippig cost.

I will write to Paypal today and ask how I am covered in that type of situation.

Do they have an unlimited time to ship it back? I had one buyer take 2 months to ship something back international.

Very interested to see what the buyer sends back. I wonder what paypal will do if he send back exactly half of the product.. See how the handle those weights not matching.

They have a certain time limit ( 10 days or so ) via Paypal from experiences so far.

No definite time limit on Ebay, from my experience.

I received the box back and had to collect it from customs. The customs lady made me open it and I filmed it. I have a box of rubbish, newspapers.
i took a video of the opening of the box as i had my suspicions.

Well, everyone kind of already knew that this was going to be the case, Still sucks when it actually does happen though.

I would call Paypal and tell them that you have it on Camera and if you have an witmess tell them that too, see how they guide you, Do NOT Give up just yet,,

And DO NOT forget the weight of the package that you recieved,,Who Knows, Maybe it is a lot Heavier, or Lighter indicating "Foul Play"

I have an email from Paypal agin this morning saying the evidence is no good as they want a police report. So I'll get them a Police report and it'll be in Thai...can I scream now?

Im not sure about that Number, but is is easy to contact Paypal by phone though,,get them their Police report, don't give up, if you win the Satisfaction will be PRICELESS I assure you,,

I got the police report. Sent it to them three 7 days ago and this morning I check and my PP account has been credited for the $400! I've had no email notification regarding the case being closed. Withdrew the funds immediately.

Just hoping he can't appeal this outcome as the case has been going on nearly three months.

A police report and video should have done the trick no doubt. No scammer will go through those kind of hoops on your end.

The videos are on youtube and looking at the stats PP never even looked at the videos! So it seems they went off the police report only.

I have though about uploading it with a password but you can't be too careful.
I've had no appeals on the decision so hopefully he's crawled back under his rock.
Oh and his brother is a criminal defence lawyer in CA I've found out after a little snooping around!
