Paypal SNAD...any way to win the dispute?

I sold an item which the buyer got trigger-happy and opened a dispute for non-receipt (3 days after they paid, 1 day after I generated the shipping label). Got it and signed for it today, and escalated to a claim for SNAD which promptly got closed (since the original dispute was for non-receipt). Seems they were able to appeal to PayPal and reopened the claim for SNAD.

They were a pair of designer shoes which the buyer says came with scratches etc (but does not question their authenticity). I have original photos that I had emailed to them before they purchased the item to show the condition of the shoes. They do show that there are no scratches/damages etc. before I shipped them out. Is there anything else I can do to solidify my claim that the item wasn't damaged before I shipped them, or can I just upload the photo and hope for the best? Date stamp the photo? Anything?

I have had luck with these type of cases.... Did you upload the pics?

Not yet. I was concerned the buyer might say the photo was taken somewhere else from the Internet etc since they're not watermarked or dated, so I wanted to make sure I covered all my bases before responding to the claim since I wanted to respond with concrete proof rather than open up a chance for her to further dispute.

She's been a problem buyer from the start, I should at least just be glad it wasn't through eBay.

Just out of curiosity, could the shoes have gotten scratched during shipping?

I thought that too, but it doesn't seem possible. They were shipped in the flat rate box in the original shoebox while padded with tissue paper. The scratch she emailed me a photo of is right under the arch/heel on the sole, so unless somebody opened the box at USPS, I can't imagine how it could've happened in transit. Also, it's a huge black scratch on blue painted sole that I know I couldn't have missed it before I shipped it out.

I like to give buyers benefit of the doubt, but she demanded a refund 3 days in before she even got the package and was hostile/rude to deal with, so makes me think it's buyers remorse.

I know I can just suck it up and get it returned to me, but frankly, I don't trust her to not ship me back an open box, and honestly, I want the money!

Thanks but I've already read through all the SNAD threads in the forum before posting.

Have you called pp to find out how to best approach too?

Paypal will most likely give her a refund and even if they do not, she most likely paid with credit card and can file a chargeback with them. Once she does, paypal will automatically refund her. If you want to keep the paypal account, you just have to eat it. If you don't care about the paypal account. Withdraw any balance and close any bank accounts or credit card attached to it. Simply call your bank and tell them you lost you checkbook and want your account number changed or closed.
