What banks are good for withdrawal from stealth account?
 

Okay so I'm just curious about which banks are good to use when it comes to withdrawing from stealth accounts. I can't use my primary bank account with PayPal anymore (you can guess why) so what would be ideal for me would be to withdraw from PayPal to an account that I'll use with my stealth accounts, then go into that bank account and transfer to my main bank.

Hope you understood that. Anyways, I'm looking for accounts that I can easily and conveniently open online. I live out in the boonies and most bank branches are an hour or more away from me, which is a bit more than a slight inconvenience if you can imagine.

I know Ally lets you open a hassle free account online without having to go into a branch or wait for anything to arrive in the mail, but I've heard that Ally doesn't like transfers coming in with non-matching names.

If you have a better suggestion please tell me, but I don't think there's a way around the non-matching names issue. Some banks are okay with it and others aren't.




So, does anybody here know of good banks that you can use with a stealth account and open online so I don't have to drive a few hours? I'd appreciate your advise wise community! Thanks!

Pretty much 99% of credit unions accept deposits with paypal.

Any bank accept mismatch name will be OK

To ZoonVoo, I don't think any bank accepts mismatch names. I browsed the forums for topics regarding Ally, and there were horror stories of Ally closing accounts.

Also, yotano211, thanks for the huge list of banks! I'm not a very bank savvy person so I don't really know what the difference between regular bank and credit union is.

Chase I'd rather avoid though because they seem to require a $25 initial deposit and $300 minimum balance on their savings. I know it's kind of small, but I was hoping for something like Ally, with no minimum balance. No initial deposit would be nice too.

I'm looking into Bank of America as of writing this. Hoping they'll be what I want. If not I'll go down every bank on your list until I find the best one.

And as I said, I'd prefer to open accounts online when I can. I mean, I could always drive to a branch during my next trip to town, but if I decide to setup a brand new stealth account at any time it'd be convenient to be able to get a bank account right away.




So just a quick update on my ideal criteria I guess... I'd preferably like a bank account that you can open online, don't require a minimum balance (because ideally I'll transfer the money to my main bank account anyways), no minimum deposit would be nice but I guess isn't a requirement, and is basically like Ally. Ally offers very good features but what I've heard about people trying to use them with PayPal scares me off.

Has anyone had experience with Applied Bank?

You may take a look at HSBC Online Saving or Basic Banking.
It's free, $1 minimum deposit, name mismatch works and you can open online.
You can see account and routing numbers immediately after get approval, usually immediately if they can confirm your identity.
You also need to print out a form, sign, and fax it back.

You can also sign up StateFarm Bank account online, but they require $25 deposit.
Account # is also available immediately. However, you may have to call them to setup initial security questions before you can register online banking.
Both StateFarm and HSBC can be verified instantly.

My experience has been Bank of America is the best, Citi bank #2, US Bank #3 and Chase #4.

I would advise against Wells Fargo for stealth purposes. At least where I am at they ask a bunch of questions every time you withdrawal money etc. I especially wouldn't feel safe having more than just a savings and checking.

When it comes to stealth accounts I have been running quite a few since 2008 so I have some experience. You want Major Banks that goes across multiple states.

Smaller banks are more likely to report any suspicious activity because they can not afford regulatory fines that could be imposed. So they tend to over report any irregular behavior.

These "too big to fail" banks I would advise for stealth purposes.

Just an FYI as an ex banker. Banks get a report of new accounts you've attempted to open through chexsystems. It will list inquiries from other banks. If someone had multiple inquiries in a short time span, we would turn them away unless there was a real good reason.

I've had the best luck with the following banks for withdrawal and mismatching names over the years...

Although I was able to withdraw and verify mismatched named accounts with Chase, they did end up closing all of my accounts out of nowhere as they said I was too risky and they didn't give me an exact reason why. They said their automated system must of caught me. I had to wait 2 weeks after my last transaction closed to get all my money back.

I was withdrawing all of the money very quickly as soon as it hit the account so that may of triggered it. I also have fairly bad credit so that might of also been a factor.

If you're using chase or really any other bank I would recommend not have big sweeping transactions as this seems to be a huge red flag in combination with Paypal transactions for their fraud departments. Basically, keep everything moving slow and don't withdraw all of the money right away or move it quickly. Let it accumulate and then slowly filter it out to wherever you want.

Large transactions are monitored closely these days with in the banks. What constitutes large and suspicious is getting tighter constantly.

Today I attempted to transfer PP funds into my wells fargo checking *fingers crossed that it works*

How much do you guys suggest is safe per each transfer from PP to a linked account? I keep it under 400 each time.

$400 is good for each time.

Much the same way as I transfer.

I keep to a certain limit & leave a balance in paypal.

Say I have $500 I want to transfer out, I often do x2 transfers.

One might be for $237 & the other for $263

PP always like to have some balance - I would not drain it to the rocks.

For all stealth pp, I withdrawn to the bottom after payment cleared by eb from few hundreds to nearly a Grand.
I am not sure if I was just lucky.

Wells Fargo is the best..

I have used Chase and Fargo.. I don't trust the Chase as much as Fargo on the ease of closing and reopening..

With hairy situations where oh paypal decides they want to freeze your account, to avoid any crap with them, it is wise to just close down and reopen an account.

Fargo can do it in a day's time.. Nothing can come through on the old account.
