Payment Held from buyer by paypal
 

just sold an item and customer paid for item , and got this response from paypal

never have seen this before any one else have had this issue and what happens next...my item i sold was legit

The Payment Review may take up to 24 hours. When we've completed the review, we'll either clear or cancel the payment. If the payment clears: You may proceed to process the order. You shouldn't ship the item until we let you know that the payment has cleared. We'll send you an email when we complete the review or you can check the Transaction History tab of your PayPal account.

It's one of those times where paypal is being nice.

Buyer's account is flagged.

paypal is 'protecting' you.

Two clues:
SO AND SO NAME is a Unverified Customer
&
Address Status: Confirmed

Is this for shipping within the USA?

That's pretty common, I've seen it happen dozens of times. I get one buyer who's bought from me several times and every purchase they get it.

happens a decent amount lately, the times it has happened it has always been cleared within 1-2 days

That happened to one of my accounts with a purchase close to 3k and 3 months the little scammer filed a charge back, thank god I won though :)

Dont ship - if you really have questions, you would have to call up PP...not a great move.

PP is protecting you ...sometimes

@GreenBean...yes it is for shipping within USA

There was something suspicious about their activity... maybe it's the relatively high purchase value if they haven't made one with that high value before.

Oh, and I hate when I get this, as I always get limited shortly after (funny... it's supposed to be a problem with the BUYER, not me).

If they held a payment from a buyer make sure you got an active phone number on there because they might call to ask you (the seller) to check what you sold to him and do not ship.
If you don't answer nothing might happen.

But we all know not answering 1 paypal call for whatever reason puts a limited status most of the time on your account.

hey guys thanks for everyones imput and responses. I got an email last night night from Paypal that item has cleared and its ok to ship , just never ever seen this before.

Normal..

About 10% of the payments go into review. Mostly from new ebay users. It's a good thing I guess.

Happened again just yesterday . I believe it was from a 'guest' buyer with a high $ amount. Still can't believe they were looking after me...
