Citibank
Alliant Credit Union
Ally
HSBC
Bank of America

These banks also let you fund and use the account right away.

Also, with Ally and HSBC, be careful with them. When you have 5+ accounts with them and lots of money rolling in on their personal accounts, they hate it and try to close all of your accounts for it. When you make a certain amount, either change them to business accounts or move some of the accounts over to another bank.

Do not use Ally for PP!

Also, be careful making multiple checking accounts with some banks. Some banks do hard inquiry credit checks for their checking accounts and they will affect your credit each time you open a checking account.

from what i've heard Citibank is one of the better banks for foreign business , but i do not know at the moment in regards to name mismatch.

HSBC and capital one 360 work very well for this

I opened an account in Buffalo, NY with Citizen Bank by walking into a branch, showing them my Canadian passport and Ontario driver's license. They're familiar with the drill because so many Canadians who live near the border have accounts there. It's the same story with Bank of America. A bonus for BoA is that you can withdraw or add funds at any Scotiabank ATM with no service service fees.

I have yet to find a bank in the U.S. that allows Canadians, who don't have a U.S SSN, to open an account online. All the ones I've spoken to require me to come into a branch. Does anyone know of any that don't require an SSN?

No UK banks allow people to open up to 5 accounts within a very short time of the initial account opening with them, this is not accurate information!

Us banks require a ss# from us citizens not foreigners but all require an actual visit in a us bank branch to open it.

Once you have a BB&T account you can open more online. I am not sure about mis matched names any more though.

Foreigners can open bank accounts in the US but they have to be present at the time and there is extra paperwork. They cannot open accounts online.
