 1st time withdrawing from Paypal UK
I recently sold something on eBay and want to withdraw the money. My account is in good standing but I don't want to keep money in something as volatile as Paypal.
I opened a new account with Santander to avoid linking my main account with Paypal. However, I learned after that Paypal can debit my account if they want to steal fees and the banks (especially Santander) are happy to charge users an overdraft fee for it.
Right now I can only think of three ways to get money off Paypal UK:
Link a savings account so money can be entered but not withdrawn
The problem is I need to withdraw money into my main bank after receiving it, and I've heard that withdrawals from some savings accounts can turn them into current accounts, so Paypal can still steal from me. If there was an account type that prevented all withdrawals unless to other accounts in the same bank owned by the same person, or via online transactions only, that would solve my problem.
Add but do not verify a bank account
I've heard from forums dating back to 2009 that not verifying a bank account after money has been put in it for the verification purpose allows you to withdraw money but doesn't allow Paypal to take it back in case it's not your bank account. Is this true? It seems like a loophole too big to go unnoticed, especially after 4 years.
Buy gold or invest in a portfolio
Investing PP funds in order to withdraw them using different means. I haven't given much thought to this. More info from anyone is welcome.
I've read numerous ways that have become unsuccessful over the years or are out of the question for me:
Send to a friend/casino/fence
I'd rather not get anyone else involved/PP bans casino transactions/I don't really trust anyone I don't know with my money
Buy Bitcoins, sell them and withdraw
This seems tedious and the value of Bitcoins changes all the time, not to mention finding someone who'll buy them at the same price
Send to a real/stealth PP account
A real account will be linked to my current account so they'll just raid the bank connected to that/a stealth account would still need a bank account which has all my real details on it
Buy a Visa Debit card/PP Access Card
I can't find a website that lets me buy a vcc online using Paypal in the UK/I've tried and failed to be eligible for a PP access card
Are there any new methods of withdrawing money from Paypal's UK branch in December 2013-2014?
Additionally, can I remove my bank account from Paypal after adding it? Their official website says that in order to delete my primary bank account, I have to select a new primary bank account. Does that mean anything when you have only one account? Do you become unverified again if you have no banks on offer?
