multiple bank accounts
 

i opened my first current account, after sometime i went to my bank to ask them for a second current account, theey obliged, i went agian for a deposit account, they obliged, and i went for a personal savings. all this time my reasons were genuine and i wanted them for the reasons i told them. later i have discovered they have become an asset to my paypal. i don't know about others, but thats how i did it.

Every time I have to pay my eBay fees I go by Walgreens and pick up a little yellow gift2go card.
I load the correct account user information onto the card online.
Then I pay that accounts eBay fees.

If for some reason I lose an account to VERO and it has fees, they have a empty card on file that they can not charge to fees to.
I NEVER put a bank account on any eBay account that I create.

yeah i've been doing the same lately with my new accounts. Before the new ones, i paid off my old accounts with my real credit card after they were suspended so that i'd be clear with them. I just hope they dont do anything with my info...havent done anything yet. prepaid CCs is the way to go now.

First i would like to ask you guys what i need to sign up PP account :
1/ Name, address, bank account , SS #
-As you guys have mentioned about the name on bank account must be real right? I agree with that.
- name, address can be ⊗⊗⊗⊗ right but accept on bank account?
- SS# must be field in paypal right? so if i have my ebay account suspended and paypal linked with ebay account also my SS# is in paypal account that ebay suspended.
Will ebay suspend my new account if i put :
1.Real bank account name
2.⊗⊗⊗⊗ name, ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address
3.SS# as same as the old PP account. Or i have to put something else?

I just bought ebay stealth and i still not pretty sure on these pages
1. i am using my aunt's address but i she deosn't want to open a bank account due to an issue with government.
2. can i use my business name to apply for PP account? and that i have to fill my name and SSN#. or can i use my business name but my aunt's SSN#?

please help.

If your aunt won't allow you to open a bank account under her name, using her SSN would be an equally terrible idea.

I was serching way to open US bank account, but Im not American. I tried with several sites but they were scams. Someone have information about this?

Get a prepaid debt card, as long as its accepts ach transfers you can get your money out. thats the easiest / cheapest way to do it. You do run into problems every now and then when the cards get blocked by paypal. BUT I have some that others have had blocked paypal accounts for being stored value cards that still worked for me.

you can get real bank accounts in other ways but they require you put a large deposit to open them.

oh and why are you guys using gift cards to pay your ebay fees???? why not just pay them with paypal. I have all mine setup to charge the gift card. However there is only $1,00 left on the gift cards so when they try it doesn't work. then they send you that make a one time payment notice. thats when I go back in send the fees from my paypal balance. Then update my payment info in ebay with the same gift card with the $1.00 balance.. in a few days my dollar they use to pre authorize the card is back on my card and I'm off to do it again the next month. I have a stack of gift cards with user ids written on the back of them so i dont get confused and screw up using the wrong card. No need to pay that $3.95 fee every month for a new gift card. I have gift cards that are 6 months old and still work..

Am I reading this right HWGA? You have 10+ Bank accounts, but if you dont verify them on ebay, so theres no real way to get the fees? Wouldnt eBay merge information with Paypal on the accounts youre using to try and get their money?

By the time one of my accounts gets NARUed the original Credit Card I used to open it with has a ZERO balance.
ALSO when a eBay account goes down the associated Paypal account is dead to me so I just close the checking account.

99.9% of the time I pay all my eBay fees.
But when I get NARUed with a remaining balance I do not pay those fees.

on the phone issue do you have a land line? If so why not just change the number or add a second line as a business line.

HWGA I wouldnt either, in fact Id probably rack up fees on a few others just to stiff eBay and make me feel better. Thanks for that tip. I think I figured out a few methods now :)

So i got a new bank account today but since its under the same name as my previous one i jus realized my routing number is the same as my previous account which got banned by ebay and therefore probably ready to be tracked again if used. In trying to verify my new paypal i want to add my new bank account to it but I'm scared, even though the acc numbers are different, will they be able to link me to my suspended account with a same routing number? How do i fix this? thanks.

The Routing number is the same for ALL accounts at that local bank.
So you and the other 50-60 thousand people would have that number.
Every account I have has the SAME routing number.... Big deal

I won't even attempt to list them for you because I don't even have a idea what part of the world you live in.

For the people who have lot of banking accounts
Do you opened in a different branch same bank name, same bank at the same branch or with a new bank corp name for each?
Going on my fourth now different bank same town.

All my accounts were opened online from BOA (Bank Of America) and WAMU.

thatkid212, Here's a thought. Put your country under your name. Go to the User CP to do so. Then, when you next post a question try to put all the facts in the one post. eg you could have said... 'I have BOA accounts already. Is there a limit to the number of accounts I can have? Are there any other banks I could use?'

Bank Of Montreal in Canada give me a 1500$ overdraft right away with the checking acc. + new credit card
Very helpful to restart with all the fees for a new LLC in the states, us phone, virtual address for mailing, order new stuffs until it sold and refund everything
You can cash check after a deposit after 7 weeks of clearance with the first account without the wait of the 10 days.
Now I can applied for the EIN # and applied for a US bank account for the LLC, and a merchant account for my 2 web store.

Should i use a ING Bank account or not? I went through some threads here that says some has problems while others don't, that happened in May. I can't find anymore threads about this. so whats the story lately?

I do not use ING but I not heard anything positive about them & Paypal/eBay lately.

Question on the bank accounts once your paypal get limited what do most of you guys do with your bank accounts do you close it? If so what do you tell the bank as to why you are closing it. The last paypal of mine that went down I told the bank that someone hacked into my paypal account and withdew a lot of money at it is attached to my bank account so I needed to close my bank account so she closed it and then asked if I wanted to open a new one and I did, how many bank accounts can you open and close without looking like a fraud person ect. Let me know what some of you tell the banks that way I am not using the same story everytime ect.

I was wondering this as well. I currently have 4 checking accounts open with 1 bank (not including my personal primary accounts). I currently have no issues with any paypal/ebay accounts, that would lead me to have to close an account, but I'm not sure how they would regard me if I did. I opened them all online, so I've never given any explanation for why I needed them.

If ever there was an issue with the ebay/paypal account that linked to one of my add on checking accounts, couldn't I just empty that account, and let it stay open like that?

This is the message you get from ING if you leave accounts open and they try and withdraw:

Recently, there have been requests for withdrawals from your account initiated by a third party (outside ING DIRECT) that we were unable to process due to insufficient funds in your account. Keep in mind that continued failed transactions like these may result in your account(s) being closed. We definitely don't want this to happen!

Before you use your account for external transactions such as paying bills or making purchases, please make sure that the balance in your ING DIRECT account will cover them.

If you haven't already done so, we suggest that you establish an electronic link with a checking account from another financial institution. Doing so will allow you to easily transfer money to and from your ING DIRECT account(s). You can add a link either online or by mail and can have up to three linked checking accounts.

If one of your accounts go down, then withdraw all your money outta your bank and paypal accounts and close your bank account. Start a new bank account under a new Bank.

The only question is one time I closed an account with compass bank and they kept asking why I wanted to close it ect and if there was anything they could do to keep me from closing it and that it didn't cost anything to keep it open as long as I made a transacation with it once every three months and they went on and on I just don't want a lot of question when I go to close the account. The other time I told them that someone hacked into my paypal account and I needed to close it and they closed and opened a new one for me which worked out great, but I can't keep using that same exuse as to why I need to close it incase they put that for the reason in there remarks as to why I closed it. I did open up a new bank at Bofa, but still have one for Compass. What to some of you tell the bank why are you closing the account ect?

I open 99.8% of all my bank accounts online and close them in person or on the phone.

Don't make up BS stores to tell people.
Just don't tell them anything.
You are not required to provide any reason for closing a account.
Because I want to is good enough.

Lol, I used to work in the cancellation department at EarthLink, horrible job... well our job was to try to convince people to keep their EarthLink accounts. We had to offer you discounts to what ever you had three separate times and try to keep you.

So here's a trick for everyone out there. If you want to lower your internet, cable or phone service just go to cancel it. When they ask the reason why you want to cancel it, say it's too expensive. It's their job to offer you a lower price. If you're not happy with that offer, say no it's still too expensive. They have to offer an even lower price. Take that one if you can, after that they might just give up on you and cancel your account.

I do it all the time even now. I like cheap stuff if I can get it.

Heck I just got roadrunner cable again because my free wifi from my neighbors has been acting up and I"m tired of it. :)

But you know what, in a couple months I'm going to call Time Warner and tell them to cancel my digital cable and road runner because it's too expensive... I feel I can get it $20-$40 cheaper per month.

I'll save me self $300-$500 a year by doing this when they offer me a better deal. :)

@HWGA: Thank you for laying that out for us. For your personal bank accounts, are they all registered to the same bank? If not, what is your strategy with choosing a bank for your next account?

I do, however, have another question for the veteran bank account openers/maintainers:

For those who run their eBay business as an LLC, have any of you tried opening multiple business bank accounts under your LLC? So, instead of opening 10 individual checking accounts, opening 10 checking accounts tied to the same business.

Would these account numbers be too close and easily linked?
