Just wondering what people's experience is for receiving Paypal payments outside of Ebay. For example, I have a verified PP account that's more than 1 year old. Have logged in only a few times. And about one month ago I created and linked a Paypal account.
Want to receive some payments but what are the chances of a hold on the money?

So far the holds are usually payments coming in from eBay sales.
Other form of income usually just go through

I have countless eBay/ paypal accounts and never once received a hold on a transaction outside of eBay.
So maybe the reason is that I'll usually make at least one sale on eBay first before making a non eBay related sale
So maybe if you have an eBay account attached to the paypal that is a selling account, than maybe for whatever reason outside sales have no holds
And if you just create a paypal with no eBay and make sales holds are in place
This is the only thing I can think of why I never had a hold on outside sales while others a
Ways do, maybe the ones that do only have paypal with no eBay

I haven't had any issues with holds on funds outside of eBay. The thing about receiving payments is you don't want a bunch of money coming to your account at one time (that's obvious). Nor do you want those funds coming from risky sources (take your pick) as that can hurt your account. Instead you want a steady incline of payments received, starting from a low amount until you have built up trust. PayPal outside of eBay is very easy to work with.

It's not that easy to work with. For instance for a year and half anytime I sent a money request, the money being paid never got held on new accounts, unless you got over $500+ on multiple payments. Now, they all get held for me for some reason. Now when I said invoices, it's hit or miss. The first one or two don't, but then anything after that is a crap shoot.

Worth noting is that for the most part my accounts have been receiving <$100 per payment outside of eB too - for what it's worth

From what I've been reading, it seems that UK and AU has always been stricter than USA, no?
If UK is doing that for payments now, then it's usually just a matter of time for USA to adopt the same.

If you get paid through an invoice on a new stealth paypal account, there will be a 21 day hold but there is a way to remove that hold.

For you to remove that hold on a new stealth you need to confirm your identity through a phone call.
