Default is a paypal that is not used with ebay more of a risk?

is a paypal that is not used in conjunction with ebay more of a risk?

For example: If I am a web designer and get paid via paypal through the "pay for goods and services" send money option, is this considered more of a risk in pay pal's eyes? Do they put more faith and security in transactions that are occurring on ebay, vs outside of ebay?

More at risk? No, it's actually MUCH easier to work with and use.

I had an inaccive paypal account that I have not used since 2005. Today my first transaction was for $6800.00 non ebay related. No holds, no reviews, etc...Much easier for this application. Second transaction was for $800.00 from an australian buyer. No issues either.
Maybe be rare, but I have never personaly had issues with paypal.

I guess age has to do with it. I had a paypal that was a couple months old and fairly inactive receive a payment of $600. It got limited.

Paypal are actually somewhat better to deal with for off ebay transaction accounts.
Mskre sure you have a variety of methods of payment too.
I have two different ones ( Different countries).

Sit down,nodeal & enjoy a small giggle.

I actually get good service from paypal.

I agree my paypal accounts that operate without eBay, are solid, I send payments every which way sometimes $1000+ a day! withdrawal anything and not one problem

I definitely feel it's more stable alone

Sure bet! But why would I share my finacial information and buyers with a public forum that litteraly has thousands of possible competators? Also, what would be the reason for being dishonest?

the paypals without ebay are fine, in fact, in addition, if you ever get your ebay shutdown, you can use the paypal that is left standing for receiving other payments.

I mean you can screenshot and delete your info - but I agree, no need for shots..

however I would have thought they would have called you after that gap and those amounts.... I would keep an acc ticking over through the years even with small amounts etc...Ive done gaps of a year or 2 though but not huge amounts, no issues....once an acc is aged and no prev issues, and you log in with cookies, it is way strong

My best paypal account handles millions of dollars not related to ebay annualy. Never a single issue. Before the 10k a transaction limitt we would gift tens of thousands of dollars weekly and often daily. But these are very large paypal accounts, all with long standing businesses.

Now here is another question: does paypal treat non-ebay payments any differently as far as the 20k/200 transactions tax limit goes? You guys are throwing big numbers in regards to how much goes through your paypal. These are obviously EIN/SSN verified?

Also, is paypal strict about off-ebay transactions that go into the account when the account is new? For example, if I open a paypal and start being paid for services in the amounts of 4, 5, or 600 the first few weeks this paypal is opened, will that cause flags to be raised and limitations to be given?

paypal is required under IRS obligations to ask for tax info for any account.

My main paypal which is actually ancient, & has never sniffed ebay, got the request way back in early 2011.

Here's another pov. Business people move money thro' accounts. There should be little to no qualms to suppy info provided the account is made correctly.

i figured the tax id request would be the same regardless of whether or not the transactions take place on ebay.

What about flagging for dollar amounts ranging from 4, 5, 600 dollars per week on a new pp acct? Would paypal be more or less likely to flag these transactions if they came from payments for services outside of ebay? Or would pp flag them all the same?

If it is setup correctly with a real business and been EIN or SS verified, less issues. Now if you have a verified SS account and the credit score is low, BIG ISSUES for a while, sometimes more than a year. If you have a high number of disputes, big issues.

Now to keep away from "automated flags" have your first transaction HIGH dollar. Higher than your average sale.

Also keep in mind, I have no issue at all calling paypal BEFORE I move money around or gift big lumps through them. But these are EIN or SS accounts that are going to be around for the long haul, even if not used for ebay.

On a new pp account, you should still look at BUILDING the payment level...start slowly....build to 600 dollars per week. From my own past experience of using PP outside of eB...can be done in about 8-10 weeks of constant building
