| SadSuspended | 12-26-2014 11:38 AM | Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Today I contacted Ally Bank to find out why I can't log in so I was connected to the fraud department. I gave them all my answers correctly to verify my account and they rep said that he couldn't verify me. So I was trying to digging more information and I said to him why not I gave you all my information. He wanted to know more about xx and xx (deposits coming under names) so I said they were paypal tutoring services for my students. He said to email him a few documents (license, utility bill and social). Have you had this problem before? |
| jeffweico | 12-26-2014 11:52 AM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Ally Bank has not been good for stealth for a LONG TIME! When looking for a bank, search the forums. You will find several that have no issues with mismatched names. Ally is no longer one of them. They WERE a good bank for stealth at one time, but they no longer are and have not been for quite awhile. |
| yankee | 12-26-2014 11:53 AM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Ally VBA has been a bit problematic lately too. |
| jeffweico | 12-26-2014 11:55 AM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names What is ally VBA - Virtual Bank Account? Or did you mean something else. I didn't know that Ally still had VBA's??? |

| yankee | 12-26-2014 12:10 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Looks something like this on Paypal:
ALLY BANK x-0957 |
| SadSuspended | 12-26-2014 01:04 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Yes. I looks like x-0057.
What should I do?
Am I in trouble? I have 8 year daughter to take care of. |
| yankee | 12-26-2014 01:07 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names I would just get another bank and eliminate the issue altogether.
Trouble for what? |
| nodeal | 12-26-2014 01:23 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names just add a different bank.Big name banks like Chase, Bank of America. I have had success with TD as well (think i read some people having problems with it, but works great for me). HSBC's customer service sucks but they never gave me a problem with mismatched names. |
| Breakthecycle2 | 12-26-2014 01:27 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Chase is no good. |
| SadSuspended | 12-26-2014 01:27 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names So I can't get the money in the bank. I probably have about $200.00 - $300.00. |

One of the banks with no issues with mismatched names. |
| Breakthecycle2 | 12-26-2014 01:34 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names They closed all my accounts a few years ago because of mismatched names and left me stranded with no money for three weeks. That was fun. |
| SadSuspended | 12-26-2014 01:35 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Breaktheycle2,
Did you had to submit your licen, etc? Did you get it re-opened? |
| yankee | 12-26-2014 01:35 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Open business accounts. Eliminates 95% of the problems. |

| SadSuspended | 12-26-2014 01:39 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names So Breakthecycle2, did you get your banks account back with Chase? |

You need to deal with the Fraud Dept.
Send what they want and be up front.
Choose your banks more carefully in future. |
| SadSuspended | 12-26-2014 06:32 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Hi GreenBean,
Thanks for joining in. I chose Ally when I joined the board based on the reviews that it was good a while ago. I know that nothing is guarantee to work but I will send what they want. The account is on my name so I'm hoping for the best. |
| tommyislost | 12-27-2014 12:02 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Can anyone suggest other banks that are "friendly" toward deposit names not matching aside from HSBC? Thanks!!!! |
| livelifewild | 12-29-2014 10:45 AM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names I found that with any bank if you open it and use it with paypal immediately having multiple deposits in different names you will usually have an issue with them.
My experience has been if you open a bank account, open it ONLINE. I never go into the branch. Do a small opening balance and just keep it like that for about 1 month. Once it is over the 1 month old stage I add it to a paypal account. Since the account it is added to is usually a newer account and newer ebay seller account sales are small and slow anyway. So the deposits are very few in the beginning. After that, having a deposit almost every other day and in a couple of different names doesnt seem to be a problem.
I have had Chase and TDBank with my paypal accounts for over 3 years now and have not had a problem. Once you are a long standing customer with them you tend to get away with whatever you need to as long as you arent breaking any laws of course.
Once that I did have a problem with is Citibank they didnt like what I was doing and closed all my accounts, them and SUNTRUST. I was an old customer to both so I just stay away from them permanently |
| RichardCard82 | 12-29-2014 06:53 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Its hit or miss with Ally, I had 3 paypal's with 3 Ally bank accounts. All paypal's under different names. (The paypal's are now limited) But when it came to withdraw the money that was frozen i had no issues getting my money out. Sorry to hear |

Did you try to search?

Over the years I have been told personally by paypal staff about banks not liked.
Ally was the very first one and ING ( with its older name) was the other.
Bear in mind I have double jeopardy as I am not USA based so need any bank account to be viable. |
| tommyislost | 01-04-2015 02:51 AM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Thank you guys for the info.
Will take livelifewild's suggestion and let the new bank account age for a month or two before linking it. |

| pennslmmer | 01-05-2015 04:16 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Recently, I tried to start a new ebay/pp account with my ally bank... PP limited my acc right away after I added my ally bank account number because the name mismatched and i don't think ALLY accepted that... i have stayed away from ALLY since then. |

| SadSuspended | 01-22-2015 10:16 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names I finally got money. It took 3 weeks 10 phone calls and many threats. I even warned them that I was recording the conversation and that the information was going to be used in court. |
| cheapstudent | 01-22-2015 11:10 PM | Re: Ally Bank Disable My Account Because Different Names Good evening gang!
Personally, I haven't had any problems with transfers from p/p to my Ally accounts. I am running 2 paypal accounts and have transferred $500-$900 from eBay valet service sales. I also have connected my other p/p account and made numerous transfers without a hitch. That being stated, what are your opinions on the following banks; Discover, Barclay, Woodforest (national bank), Navy Federal?
Best Regards,
