paypal permanent lock after 180 day wait
 

I had funds in my paypal account ~4000$ USD and after waiting 180 days and receiving the eligible to withdraw email I tried to withdraw the funds and they locked my account. Phoned them and they said the account is permanently locked.. can anyone help?

Was this a stealth account? Did you send in any id documents?

its a stealth and they didnt require any documents. just said it was permanently locked.

For PayPal to take such a drastic step, they must have a real problem with whatever it was you were selling. The only way I can see you getting your money back is by getting an attorney. And even an attorney may not be able to help if the problem is that serious.

I had a chargeback on a higher priced product.. so they just limited me but gave me my money and told me I can get it in 180 days but now they arent letting me withdraw it..

If they blocked you from withdrawing theres not much you can do besides keep calling them and get a nicer rep that's willing to let you withdraw or atleast get them to tell you why there not letting you withdraw

I rarely hear cases in which you are not allowed to withdraw after 180 days. They must have a big problem with something you are doing.

I have a feeling there will be some UK cases being posted soon from the recent issues back in November of 'confirm your identity' permanent limitations, where people won't even be able to get their money.

Speculation for now though.

Like others said, you must have ticked off Paypal for them to make that decision.

OP you need to telephone paypal and find out what is happening, because at this point you have nothing more to lose.. hopefully it is a error..

The chargeback on the high priced product is most likely why they didn't feel it right to send you the money.
What kind of product was it that you sold?

Isn't it against the laws?? No complain from buyers anymore so what's the point of holding your money?

I wonder what are PP legal explanations when they steal money this way. If they think money was obtain in an illegal way, and they can't give it to the account owner, why are they allowed to take this money themselves? o_O
