SS Number Request
 

My "joint" account with a friend just got a request for SS#. I sell on it and give him 10% of the proceeds. My EBAY account was suspended but not my paypal. BUT he opened up a new paypal account in his name and linked a gift card and I put in my Credit Union Checking account. My question is since my other paypal does not have my ss#, can I just give the paypal in his name my ss#? I will not hit the threshold $20k AND 200 transactions as each transaction is usually $5-15. But a lot of transactions. My total sales are as follows. Jan $0, February $275, March $1600. The account has a $20k a month limit. Please reply soon as I need to draw out $500 for vacation. I have about $2000 in paypal account. I got the email this morning that the account would be limited if I did not comply soon.

Mixing names and SSN's will not work. The IRS will match the name to the SSN when PayPal sends it to them for verification.

They send the IRS "John C Smith 323-12-1234" and the IRS returns a code of MATCH or NO MATCH.

So I applied for an EIN and sent that to Paypal. I am assuming the IRS will tell Paypal to take a flying leap if they request verification.

no,
the refuse to giv social was not my original post.
the sneaky was, just trying to update people on paypal asking about other accounts when they limit you to two.
You guys need to realize sometimes your "answer" make no sense and so we have to ask again? Also tried searching for answers but most were from 2012, 3 years out of date.
