Just a quick question: I'm not an expert on bank transfer procedures and protocols, and maybe I'm not understanding some basic premise of this discussion... but how exactly are "names" associated with PayPal transfers into a bank account? From what I can tell on my online statement (Bank of America checking), Paypal transfers are just identified as "TRANSFER PAYPAL 5V3223HGK3BJZ" -- there is no indication of the name on the related PayPal account that the funds are coming from. Could someone please confirm this or explain the idea that different names on PP and bank account are causing the problems? Thanks!

Re-read posts 7 & 14 by HWGA. Think hard. Then read the thread again.;)

Is this not true?

To this day they have not called me

I used ING successfully from June to November without a single glitch. I opened the accounts the same way I opened the BofA accounts. They never flagged me or anything for having lots of accounts. They finally stopped me because the names didn't match my name from Paypal.

Also, the title of this thread was edited without my approval. Kinda reeks of censorship.

Yeah I opened the account about 2 months ago and have no used it until recently. I've been into the bank a few times to withdraw money that was deposited by my paypal account without any questions asked and I have used the ATM plenty of times. So it definitely works :) No phone calls either.

We have been saying that ING will NOT work for Paypal for a while now.

No, it is called a Moderator doing their job.

Hmm...I never said ING was the answer. I merely stated that it worked fine for me for about 6 months. That is a statement of fact. I do find it funny that someone is lecturing me on ING who has never used the service.

To whoever altered the name of this thread... it does not accurately reflect my original message. BofA is not giving me problems with my Paypal account. My Paypal accounts that were linked to BofA are all working fine. I will be adding new bank accounts to them next week. The problem is that BofA closed MY BANK ACCOUNTS.

Boa gave out real name and address

I had a problem with BOA.

I had 4 accounts with them. Some I had never used.

Pay Pal contacted them and asked them the name on that

checking account which of course was not he same.

I did not think they could give out that info.

You must be apart of the 1.3% who had problems with BofA. We are but a very small minority! :)

GreenBean 01-04-2009 11:57 PM

The 1.3% of the users having troubles have only made statements that BoA alledgedly gives troubles. Take the statement 'paypal contacted them and asked the name': how was this done? Where are the records? Unless there is more proof, it's hearsay at the most.
Sure an inconvenience but their role in the problem must be taken into account first.
