Payment release 7 days - no tracking number
Hello fellow eBay miscreants,
Long story less long
I've started up a small eBay store a few months ago and have been steadily selling for the past 3 months. But this week I've notice this week that PayPal no longer releases funds 3 days after a tracking number shows that the buyer has received the order.
As indicated on their site 'Typically, you’ll have access to these pending payments after:
7 calendar days of the estimated delivery date, if you mark the item as sent in your eBay account, or
21 calendar days, if you don’t mark the item as sent in your eBay account'
I assumed this was probably one of their 'errors' as I have always received the funds easily after adding a tracking number has shown that the buyer has received the package. It had been 4 days after they received the order, so I just assumed PayPal was just having one of those (many) days. maybe they're still emotionally/alchoholically recovering from that last Liverpool game. Understandable. Cut to 6 days later and still no release, I just called in and they've said that they can no longer manually release the funds until 7 days after the order has been marked as 'sent'. I told them that I added the tracking number and they replied saying that 'due to recent eBay losses' they no longer have the authority to release funds even with tracking numbers.
Even more worrying was that I was told by of their operators to mark another order that I haven't even shipped off yet as 'sent', to, as they put it, 'get the funds released earlier'. I made it clear that the order hadn't been shipped off yet and the operator still said that I should mark it as shipped. Has anyone else run into this as it seems eBay and PayPal are going the Amazon route of having a set fund release date regardless of a tracking number.
Thanks
