Does filing a chargeback against a seller on PayPal? Help

So I got screwed on a eBay transaction got a gift card and I had filed a dispute with PayPal which was closed since eBay/paypal do not offer buyer protection on gift cards

If I file a chargeback with my CC company for the PayPal payment, will PayPal close my account? This is not a stealth account, it's in very good standing and no issues

PayPal told me that wouldn't happen unless I kept filing chargebacks (I've never
Filed a chargeback in my life btw)

Well you will have to weigh the possible pros and cons on doing and not doing a chargeback.

Is the money lost on ebay worth possibly losing a well-established PP account?

If its a well established paypal and this is a once in a lifetime chargeback you should be fine. Do so more often and you lose the paypal account.

Agree with slokor, ... also a non-established paypal account + chargeback = instant limitation. (this was my experience a few years back, not sure if things have changed since)

Keep in mind I'm the buyer, filing a chargeback via CC for a PayPal payment.

Never filed a chargeback before and it's a rather established account so I think I'm fine. Just filed it today and I think my credit card company is stupid and gonna screw this chargeback up for me

Why are you thinking this?

Credit card companies tend to be realistic with real claims.

Credit card companies are rarely "stupid" - you aren't explaining the deal well to your company...

It's a Walmart MasterCard. Their customer service and reps suck and really don't know anything. I explained the situation to them three times and they seem confused. They filed the chargeback but yea

Most USA banks ok if got legit reasons. I have card from UK bank they repeated denied me even with tons of evidence back up dispute. US bank saw same paper work sided with me. All non-PayPal transactions. So apparently Us gives you more protections. I not done fighting it plan write few letters to appropriate regulators I learned in past that usually gets banks see things your way.

Maybe a lack of trust between you and bank? or maybe it was specifically the bank, what was this bank's name?

I'm from the UK, and I have filed chargeback against websites I purchased from (not ebay/paypal), and I couldn't have asked for it to be simpler. My money was refunded back to me immediately. Investigation began straight after. Done.
