I'm in shock...Chargeback dispute in my favor

Just got the message below, supposely Paypal successfully dispute a chargeback against me. I contacted the guy when he file it and tried to satisfy him, so that is probably why when his CC company contacted him he let it slide. I don't believe Paypal actually did anything, but the guys CC company must have investigated and denied it.

"We are pleased to inform you that we have successfully disputed chargeback
case XXXX. The buyer's card issuer has decided in your favor
and within seven days you will receive reimbursement"

If you followed their guidelines on chargebacks, you'll always see results like this

I 100% disagree with that..Guidlines mean nothing to paypal..I wonder what their success rate is for chargebacks:grin:

Which everyone knows they dont even ATTEMPT to fight.I've had chargebacks that were MORE than obviously from scammers laong with sufficient evidence.PayPal SAID the Card issuer denied the claim. My theory is that PayPal doesnt even send your evidence to the card issuer

Bull****. Chargebacks work 90% of the time on tangible items, and 99% of the time on non-tangible items, no matter what guidelines are followed.

I agree with you. What incentive does PayPal have to come to your defense as a seller? All they get are the $ fees. They care more about keeping the buyers happy then the sellers. I'm sure if the amount is high enough they might raise a hand to help.

There's probably some equation they use to decide what level of help they'll be.

yaw1800 03-15-2009 10:46 AM

if you did everything correctly in their policy about shipping time, proof of shipping and so forth, they WILL decide in your favor...

Paypal isnt the greatest service in the worl but i do know that they honor their policies... eBay probably doesnt, but paypal does
