Strange Limitation Kind. All PayPal accounts limited at once?
 

Hello everyone,

I just had a limitation hit all of my Paypal accounts.

Now here is the thing, they were all limited yesterday, and...

There's no explanation of what to do or why, no possibility to submit documents nor email of the limitation.

And, it states that the limitation cannot be appealed.

Looks like an April fools joke except for the fact that April has already past.


Has something similar ever happened to you?

FYI, I haven't been doing anything shady, I haven't been selling at all and did not mix browsers/IPs.

Thing is,

- Each account had a separate Firefox profile (separate cookies and user agents)
- Each account was accessed from a separate VPN (different IPs)
- Different VCCs on all accounts.


They've been live for about half a year now, I don't think I've messed up when creating them.

24vc, their dedicated IP solution.

I had IPs from Latvia, maybe all their Latvian VPNs were banned from Paypal, but I would find that strange.

Is it possible that a VCC provider gets banned and thus everyone who is using a VCC issued by it gets limited? Were there similiar incidences in the past?

I know Entropay caused a lot of headaches for some of my accounts, which VCC were you using?

They are private VCCs purchased from the user Muzzie.

I am really clueless what the hell is happening.

I don't understand anything, 11 different accounts, all with different info, created at different times, selling different items, all limited on 29th July with the same message

Were you using broadband internet? If so ever have random weak signal? Every have connection issues?

If all the IPs were from 24vc for Latvia it is possible they were all on a very narrow range.
How different were the IP addresses? were the 3 digit groups the same? for example - if the IP address is - xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa - were xxx.yyy.zzz the same for all of the IP addresses you used?

@OP, how did you get money out - move the money between accounts? Maybe it is possible that you didnt keep track of separate IP?

What about registration info - address, phone number?

Here's what I have for now:

I had 2 old accounts that I didn't need a VPN to connect to, and they weren't limited. Seems like the problem is related to the VPN.

There were 2 different ranges of IPs provided by the VPN provider, accounts created within IPs of both ranges were limited.

I did not transfer money between the accounts. I withdrew the money to the VCCs, I had a separate one for each account. Except for those non-VPN accounts, with those I withdrew to bank. So maybe those VCCs have something to do with this as well.

I did keep track of the IPs, having VPNs it's easy. The physical adresses were all diffferent, although from nearby places, from the same city and some had the same postal codes, may this have been a problem also?. Phones were completely different for all accounts.

Finally I was using mobile internet, sometimes had some connection issues, but usually when it happened I closed all eBay/PP tabs, disconnected from VPN and reconnected, as otherwise Internet wouldn't work. I really doubt I would leave any Paypal tabs open as I was rigorous in this aspect.

I have had all my VPN accounts closed last July. Conclusion was all accounts were created around the same time with the same technique and all have shared a very small IP pool. This took 5 days and more than 100 calls into ebay and paypal to get solid reliable info from.

So what happened was I had one ebay account limited(my fault, sold way to much in a single day on a fresh account), Two days later the other 12 got limited all at the same exact time.

I was not using any safety disconnect programs so when I had a weak connection issue off and on for a few days. When this happens the VPN drops and it would pick up my weak cellular IP.

Like you all my non VPN accounts were fine and I still use those to this day.

Well, that seems to be my case then as well.

However, from your case I can see that there are 2 possible problems:

the weak connection, that made you disconnect from the VPN thus revealing the real IP to Paypal

and then using similar VPN IPs and creating the accounts around the same time.

I will try to call them when I get back home and get pointers as to which of these 2 it is, as in the first case it's easily fixable by blocking all non-VPN connections, however in the second case it seems a more complicated issue that requires a systematic approach.


I cannot create more non-VPN accounts as I have hit the limit of bank accounts I can have with my bank, so withdrawable VCCs (which only work in specific countries, excluding) were my only choice.

You might want to try spreading your accounts accounts over multiple VPN providers. Just like you spread your sales over multiple stealth accounts to avoid everything going down because of one mistake, you can also apply this same line of thinking with your VPN providers. Thus way if a few accounts go down, they wont all go down.

Thank you for your tip! That's definetely one thing that I will do from now on. Do you have any recomendations of VPN providers for eBay? I haven't really heard of any except 24vc.

if the VCC is blocked or banned by PP yes, like Entropay for some countries...

Private internet access is good for canada pp. hma london loc 1 (if im not mistaken) - good for GB pp. thats work for me. Dont know the rest. Make sure use socks5. [emoji6]

I agree with Yankee - I feel the VPN may have dropped a few times causing the link. To add to this, you could have a wired connection and have VPN drop sometimes, and 24vc's application will still say connected, but when you check your IP it won't be the VPN IP.

So you need to play it safe by ensuring there are kill switches in place to prevent IP leakage.

Thank you all for the helpful advice! Really I didn't expect so much help when posting this thread.

What I will do based on your advice is the following:

1. Fix VPN leak: block non-VPN connections with Firewall.
2. Buy each VPN from a different country to avoid IP range problem (24vc)
3. Try to find different VPN providers (no luck finding one good for stealth so far)
4. Completely different names / addresses for the accounts (as IPs will be from different countries)

Do you think there's anything else I should account for?

All this after calling PayPal of course to verify the problem, which I can't still do as my SIMs don't work in this country.

Every time you make Ebay and PayPal accounts try and be unique as possible, man/woman, gmail/hotmail, 50yr old/20yr old, Firefox portable/chrome portable, different VPN providers etc

Yeah, it's all easy until you make your 20th account and have to use Netspace portable and Yandex Mail :lol:

But jokes aside, indeed, I know the importance of making it seem that each account belongs to a different person.

Yet creating 100% unique listings and using a different service for everything every time is uncomfortable and time consuming, so it's really practicity vs risk of being caught.

Netscape portable? Havent heard of it. Might give it a go!

VPN is generally good, and the ones I use are very stable.

People talk of dirty IPs, I log all my IPs and never repeat and dont seem to have any issues, and I'm sure many people have used them for Ebay/Pp before.

Like logging in from Starbucks, they are unlikely to limit you on IP alone. I suppose if IP drops then that might cause issues.

I operate some of my UK accounts from thousands of miles away. I even created some foreign PayPals from a diffrrent country IP

VPN is bullsh!t and expensive as hell. Try to find yourself a better and safer solution. From my side, VPN isn't safe because the connection can drop anytime, and your true IP will be revealed

Just set up the PC to block all non VPN traffic and that cannot happen.

VPNs work very very well, when used correctly.

I had the same issue on 29 July. With my Latvian stealth Paypal accounts.
Limited huge part without any email message.
I am still trying to figure out what caused this limitation...

Personally I use my hotspot on my android phone. Every time i hit airplane mode it bounces ip. I dont even bother logging ips as I noticed with Verizon the ip can change every time you click a new page. I have not had one single link in 2-3 years yet. The main stealth is tied to my home ip. And even know the isp lists it as a dynamic ip, I havnt seen the ip change once in over a year. That is until I bounce mac address through the router then it changes. And the weird thing is I put back the old mac address and old ip comes back. ISP seems to generate ip depending on mac here more than anything.

Even more interesting is my isp buys internet off of verizon as I have done some trace routes and discovered verizon Fiber is their provider..LOL!

I have been tracking Ip's for over 10+ accounts for over 7 years and eventually they will repeat.

I use Broadband DSL, Verizon Mifi, ATT Mifi, Sprint Mifi, Boost Mobile and sometimes tethering... Yes it can take time and doesn't happen often with some providers, but eventually you will duplicate IP.

Eactly the point Im making. I am hypothesizing ebay doesn't track mobile ips from cellular networks. Because they change constantly like dropping a tower etc.

Well, here we go. Now this is starting to get interesting. I wonder if there are more people on these forums who also got hit by the very same problem.
