he every 1 just wonderd if ther is a free softphone i can download because xlite keeps giveing me 401 unauthorized i have got the phone number to ad in to the softphone so i can do the ebay phone number verication just need the softphone

Have you looked at TPad? I saw something on youtube about them.

Got a bit of a surprise for you, tim. You might have to spend money to make your ebay accounts. It will not be too painful. Once you get selling, you'll get your money back. ;)

I have used the softphone for ages, no problems, always works with ebay.

However today when they say "this is ebay calling press 1" the touch pad does not work and therefore you cannot verify.

Anyone else found this?

any fixes?

Have you tried again? I get this with calls forwarded to my mobiles - the tone on one of the keys doesn't register with Ebay (I can't rember if it is 1 or 0). So I try again to get a different number to press.

^^^ok tpad, but I dont get what your service does for us, do you have geographic landline style numbers as that what is required by many ebay sites now..

you say one gets very own tpad number e.g. 1126789 - we cant use this...

is it mean i can use it to verified my us ebay account even i now @ overseas? how about the phone number? it will change everytime we use it?

Sometimes calls diverted to a landline do not always work with the touchphone. tollfreeforwarding is an example. When the call goes to your landline the buttons do not work.

You can try holding up a mobile on speakerphone to the phone and press the button and this should work.

But we should all be aware that they can disable this feature. I found this out with voipfone but I managed to get it re-enabled by calling them and switching the "carrier"

Yeah that would be great especially if you can offer Geographic numbers close tho the same digits as where we are registering our accounts.

They work just like skype.

I have 8 different voip phone numbers. 4 are with sipgate and the other 4 are with coms

I need a piece of voip software that will take up 10 numbers & keep the full 10 active, so that if ebay call, ill be able to receive the call

Is the any of the above software capable of doing this, as some of the software im currently using will not keep all my numbers active, and this is no good to me, thanks people :-)

How did you get four with sipgate did you just open up a new account with each one, if so do you use the same home number to forward or as your number?

If you need that many numbers running at once you may need some form of switchboard application. But the ones I have seen you have to be able to build them yourself or be willing to pay for them. Just a google search brought them up.

Xlite was the only one that I was looking at that had more than one number but I have not looked at that many, as the three numbers on Xlite will do for now, and I am not sure if it adds more as you add them as I have not tried.

Ninjalite is cool, it uses touchtone which sipgate supports, X-lite doesnt!

Yes i opened up a new account for each number. Then i set them up with phonerlite and was able to verify my accounts without forwarding anything.

Since posting that msg i realized that zipper biz is able to handle multiple numbers from any voip provider and they all stay active, just encase ebay rings!

It was competitors I was worrying about. They buy an item then try the number and then start squeaking to ebay if it does not work. Then it sets ebay looking into your account.

So do you put down the same tel number for all of them, when they ask you to provide a number or just make one up? Sipgate I mean by that, as I am sure they asked for a tel number when I set up.

So phonerlite is allowing sounds from your computer down the line, so if you hit the number paypal hears it? What about other sounds on your comp when you are talking to a person?

Only if u have a mic set u. To send touch tone sounds it uses something called DTM. When you press a certain number on the softphone will send a certain sound signal.
