I depends what PP checks when confirming a phone nr.
I found it rather easy to get Ma Bell to install a new land line at my house under any name. For example for a student who is renting a room at my place.

They never asked for a SSN or other credentials, only once thay required a deposit, since the customer would be under 18 . Then that numer will be listed in the diectory under the student's name and my addres.


EB and PP can call that number and the student would answer.

BUT: MY ADDRESS IS LINKED WITH A SUSPENDED ACCOUNT

The only question is: Do they just call to get you on the phone?

or do they do a reverse directory search?
And when they do that, do they just match the directory name wth the PP account name? or do they also match the ADDRESS?

You'd need to know these answers before deciding how to set up your thing..

they call through landline to confirm that you most likely have an actual household...

if they did a reverse directory, everyone who lived in an apartment complex would be linked lOl

I use ATT pay as you go cell service and i ALWAYS use that with paypal and ebay and i NEVER have a problem...I make a few accounts every month and just made a new one around the first of the month with a new pay as you go cell number and didnt have any problems...Unless they changed their policy in the last week or 2, You CAN use pay as you go cell service for BOTH paypal and ebay, at least you can with ATT and i can verify that !

Na they couldnt block tarcfones think about how many poor broke americans use these phones for every day use.

Tracfone does not work with paypal verification when your account is limited. They will tell you that you need a landline or they will mail you a pin number to the address on file with paypal.

I am a little worried becasue i was going to use a tracfone to pass the home verification to lift my limit on paypal

You said nothing about using it on a limited account. I haven't tried a prepaid phone to try and get a limited account unlimited. I have only verified ebay and paypal accounts with it, so I'm not sure.

Yes you should have a working phone number for every account you are actively selling on.

Since this thread is so spread out over like 3 years, can somebody post an update of what services currently work with offering phone number verification for ebay/ paypal?
