They have different models so it can be confusing. I'm going to try get the model, picture and info from each because 30 days expiration is a waste of time and money.

The ones at walmart come with free 20minutes. They are $9.99ea. On the box it states they come with 10free minutes plus 60 days. But when you activate the phone online I get a message saying 20 free minutes.

Picked up 3 at the family dollar in tampa. The place was ghetto.so they let me buy 3 in two different transactions lol

I know the W175g comes with 10 minutes.

It's not the model... it's the offer on the box. Some retailers it, some don't :/

FYI people:

I purchase Tracfones at Target and RiteAid for $10.00. I've been through 7 of them. EVERY TRACFONE on the shelf by default comes with 10 or 20 minutes of air time for activation. Read the small print on the back and you'll see it. The sales REP will TRY and convince you to add minutes, but it's totally unnecessary.

Cheapest phone/deal I've seen thus far.

Every Tracfone I have bought has said it comes with 10 free minutes on the box, but when I activate it, I have alway been given 20 free minutes.

I must be doing something wrong :)

I just pick up 4 W175G at my local big lots for $5 bucks each sweet :)

It also includes 60 days of active service.

I'm confused about that^ so does the phone become useless after the 60th day IF no minutes are iin the phone or aren'y used? or when you add minutes, does your days of active service extend?

Quick update...

I was at Family Dollar this morning, and the only TracFones they had left were $15. BUT - they were camera phones with BlueTooth and also came with the double minutes for life feature.

Their being out of stock only pertains to my local store, they DO still carry the other cheaper ones.

This is not a bad deal if you want a nicer phone and double minutes. Not NECESSARY for stealth, but still nice.

I live in Sacramento California area. i went to BIG LOTS and bought 10 phones. they were marked as 10.00, but when i got to the register, they rang up as 5.00 a piece,, activate online and receive 20 free minutes...

they are all reconditioned at BIG LOTS, it tells you on the box, but they look new to me, i could'nt even tell until i saw the big sticker on the back that said RECONDITIONED..

down here they limit us.. 2 per person. Funny thing is big lots, would never let me buy multiples.. including when i went in there in uniform.. ahem.

anyway, family dollar just sells me 2 at a time, they were 8$ now the sale is over and they are back to $10 each. never had any trac fones not come with 20 mins and 60 days.


Any cheaper alternative since it seems big lots in my area are all onto the verizon phone bs

if the tracfone expires, would your bay or zon account also close down?:confused:

Kratosl, It's always a good idea to have a working phone number on the account. Ebay/pp will call from time to time to check in. Missing one call can cause your account to become limited.
