| | | thelizardking | 06-25-2008 12:16 AM | Not sure how they knew but they did ask specifically for a lanline, I entered this number, they said the number didn't match the address and they are sending a letter with a pin number, Originally I was limited with the wonderful "Suspicious Bank" notice. But once I confirm the location this Paypal should be good to use for a while... |
| 2jvacation | 07-10-2008 01:24 AM | I like Vumber they give you a phone number and you can add as many additinal line you want for $1.99 can't beat that. I use these number for all sorts of use. Thanks guys for letting find a good solution.:) Wish I had known about Grand central before they locked it.:( |
| 2jvacation | 07-10-2008 03:33 AM | I realized it doesn't work to well with cell phone |
| arysmith | 07-10-2008 02:04 PM | Vumbers works well for verification, probably I had is their customer service. My plan is trial and only allows 3 numbers. I want to add more. They have a business plan where you can get 50 numbers. probably is they never respond. |

I think its a good service and its cheap and has worked verifying all my ebay accounts... |
| NowWhat | 08-03-2008 09:15 PM | Vumber forwarded twice - not working I am trying to use a vumber to very eBay seller account. It is forwarded to my 866# which is forwarded to my Mexico land line. I can get it to ring my land line in Mexico but there is then just silence.
Any ideas or suggestions? Can eBay detect that it is being forwarded twice? |
| topazcorp | 08-03-2008 11:00 PM | Since you're living in Tucson wouldn't it be easier to just cross the border and buy a prepaid cell phone since they cost almost nothing? |
| NowWhat | 08-04-2008 08:21 PM | topazcorp and Modee - thanks to you both for the response.
topazcorp - I'm actually living about 100 miles inside Mexico. Most US cell phones won't work here because of some technical changes Mexico made 2-3 years ago. So whether it is a cell phone or vumber. Even the Verizon "World phone" won't work here.
Modee - All of my info with eBay shows Tucson and the vumber is Tucson area code. I use AOL for the IP.
Has no one else had this problem, that eBay will ring the redirected vumber, but then silence? |
| imthatguy | 08-05-2008 06:42 PM | Vumber will be dead and not work for Ebay within 2 week. Mark my word.. Ebay spies here |
| Mrfixxit111 | 08-13-2008 04:25 PM | Hello all!
First post. Great guide and fantastic forum.
I have a ring Central acct w/real info.
Has always worked flawlessly, until today. The automated system just flat out did not call.
No error messages from ebay, or on my end. Live chat linked me to another page to try again, still nada.
Always worked before.
Anyone else expierience this? |
| cygnusx1 | 08-20-2008 02:18 PM | I was using vumber for awhile and it worked pretty good. I used it for account just recently and all I got was static. I emailed their customer service to see what the problem was and no reply from them. So I cancelled my account, but there are always alternatives. |
| ebayblues | 08-21-2008 11:14 AM | New on here also, and first post as well. Just wanted to add that I tried to verify paypal account yesterday, which had just became limited, with vumber. Punched in the pp pin# and it failed, this is what I got from pp
" Unfortunately, you did not pass the confirm location by phone process for the following reason: Using publicly available databases, we were unable to match your address to phone number selected." I'm in the US. I had also got verifed originally with a trackfone but it failed as well on the first attempt to lift the limit. Now definite 180 day hold on 2 grand. Great forum by the way. |

Great forum by the way. | Why not try picking up a disposable pay-as-you-go cellphone.
Sorry... I just found out that tracfone is a pay-as-you-go cellphone.
Maybe you can hire Modee to help you out. |
| jerkyboy1 | 08-21-2008 10:56 PM | I agree the spies are here everywhere. It seems like everyday I get on there are 10 new members with 1 post or two posts asking questionable things as well other things which raises flags. |
| helpme1 | 08-23-2008 01:26 AM | I have used grandcentral in the past and callwave but they dont seem to work anymore for ebay or paypal verification calls. I now use a prepaid cell phone or magic jack and it works great ;) To last poster J not all of us that don't post are ebay or paypal spies but instead shy people that have had a very hard time with ebay or paypal too  I have been a member since Sep 2007 and to be truthful just do alot of reading on the site and don't do any posting until recently when I had questions for other longtime members. This site is great. |
| jerkyboy1 | 08-23-2008 02:05 AM | Hi. I was not saying anyone was a spy because they were new or had low post counts rather some people are questionable and you can see through their phony questions and because of this no important information should be given out especially in the open and only in pm to trusted members that's all. I actually do what you do on many boards instead of posting because I'm lazy but on here I feel like I should post what I know to help people and learn from others. |

| jolor | 09-07-2008 08:51 PM | hi, new to the forum stuff and trying to set up ebay after couple of suspended accounts. can i use my son's cell phone number if he is part of our family plan? i want to do this right. Vumber sounds good but wouldn't this be an easier alternative? |
| smile | 09-08-2008 06:54 PM | Do you have to verify the pay pal with a phone number even if you do not want to withdraw more then $500.00 a month.
also is vnumber not working now? |
| smile | 09-09-2008 02:51 PM | So does anyone know if vnumber is working |
| digitaliz | 09-11-2008 06:25 PM | Smile, you need to ask less questions and read more. |
