I'm planning to get a Tracfone for a new fresh number, then at the end of the free time, port it to a google voice account. That way it'll be a fresh number and be free for the future.
I've had real accounts for 10 years, but never had any phone calls. Should the TF number last longer since it's from a real carrier? How does this sound?

If I port it to google voice then it will still be active, and forward calls to another linked phone. I was just thinking I don't want to carry 10 phones. Mainly I just don't want a recycled number or one labeled voip.
