I am Australian. In Australia. we are able to buy $1 pre-paid sim cards. it's $1 and it just contains a new phone number and a sim card. There is no money in the phone cards so you can't use it to call people and you can only receive calls on it unless you put funds in it.
I read in the UK you can also buy £1 SIMs at some shop called Tesco
Is there such a thing in the US? if so can anyone give me the link on where i can buy them online?
I am not really interested in using skype or google voice. In the past i tried using google voice and it messed the account up and skype is too expensive. it's $15 or something for a phone number where i can just buy 15 x $1 phone numbers for the same price.

cheapest place I know of to get a sim card here is on ebay, att gophone ones start around 3.99 or so but you have to add money to the account once you activate it to use it, I think the lowest amt you can get for the gophone is $10, its actually cheaper to buy the 9.95 gophone at walmart since it comes with a few mins of airtime once you activate it.

do you think that a US pre-paid card must work internattionally? in my point of view the SIM should have the enough balance to do the roaming and work out of us? or Am I worng? :D

Roaming rate is KILLER for the most part - of course, only if you HAVE to use the number for call, whether inbound or outbound....
