Slimjim | 04-01-2014 02:15 AM | One Way I Passed Ebay Phone Verification I managed to pass the Ebay phone verification and I thought I'd share how in hopes it might help someone else. First off, this is not a method that will work every time for reasons that will be obvious. But it can be used more than once in certain situations. I used my real name when I made my legitimate account years ago. For my first stealth account I used my real last name and my real first name with a letter missing. For the sake of clarity, let's say my real name was Jeff Rogers, and for my stealth account I spelled it as Jef Rogers.
Eventually I got the MC999 email asking to call and verify my info. I called and told her my name was Jef Rogers, simply hoping that she wouldn't go the public records route. She did unfortunately and she obviously couldn't find my name. She told me that because she couldn't find me, I'd have to call back in 4 days after my account had reached 30 days. Why the hell that was I don't know, still doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe someone can fill me in.
So I decided to call back the next day and here's what I did. I gave the next girl the same Jef Rogers. When she told me she was going to do the pubic records search, I said "Oh, if you're going to look at public records, you'll have to use Jeff with two F's, otherwise you won't find me. That's my legal name, but I always go by Jef with one F." And she did, which led to her asking me public records questions about the real me. Verified with no problem.
When I called for the second account (⊗⊗⊗⊗ name) and the girl said she was going to do public records questions, I said "Oh ****! My pig just bit my daughter! I gotta go!" and hung up the phone. Called back the next day and was lucky enough to get a guy who just asked me general questions about what I was planning to do with the account. And I do actually have a small pig and a daughter, so it wasn't a complete lie.
Hope that might be of some help to someone. |
