Often times I do it right away, but I'm competent enough to know what is high risk, and what's not. So it's hard to put a time frame on it. The idea is to avoid anything that is branded/high risk...

The first few items you sell, avoid electronics.
Postage and packaging items are a good way to get your account rolling. You'll sell them as they are always in demand, and very low risk items...
