yea, you have to change your shipping address every now and then. I had my stuff sent to a different address and it came in like 4 days.

Weight has nothing to do with it.

Smile getting around EMS + Rate Hikes

Oct 1st would be the 60th anniversary of the founding of the P.R.China. Security level is rising so the transportation of particular goods is becoming more and more difficult since last week. The freight rate has raised by 12% and it's still raising.

A lot of suppliers will have to add a 3% additional freight charge from tomorrow until Sep 1st. After Sep 1st it's hot season, EMS freight will increase more, and so the suppliers will increase accordingly.

Also Shanghai EMS has stopped taking certain (especially HOT items) shipments. So we have to redirect it to export from Beijing.

Hope this helps

my main supplier all 4-6kg and never a problem..if you think weight has nothing to do with it,do 20kg ems..guarantee you wont get all yer shipments..thats way too risky

Before you start to really irritate me. Let me lay some things down.

Weight has absolutely nothing to do with customs holding a package. A seller has had MANY high weight packages go in and out of customs without any issues at all. More than just the usual 4-6KG package. That seller is not the only one who can confirm this.

What DOES matter is how your supplier is filling out the information on the paperwork, where its being sent to, how theyre packaging it, and whats inside. Along with quite a few other things. And Im telling you weight is not one of them.

Unless you work for customs personally I would suggest you get some manners and read the boards more for posts of this nature.

My friends in Shanghai told me they found coke in EMS package, so all shipments from China are being delayed.

I think arsgunner might mean the size of the packaging. I've noticed that smaller packages do arrive faster.

burst is right. it has nothing to do with it. it has plenty more to do with what's inside of the package. and the paperwork and how it gets filled out is so critical. in my opinion it is the most important aspect to any package.

Yes my supplier had also informed me that EMS was closed 4-5 days this week, i had an item going to New Zealand i haven't checked the tracking number yet. A few times lately i have noticed that item has returned to supplier at Chinese customs then they have to reissue new tracking number. They still deliver max 14 days so they are still a great posting service

Thats about the average. A seller once had a package arrive in one day. However, customs held it so the shipment was delivered at the average time span.

Shipping from China to US via EMS has definitely got slower lately. It used to be 7-8 days on average from door to door and it is now has increased to 11-15 days. Something is going on in China as well as in US. Sometimes the USPS tracking system (not EMS) would show that the item had left China and it would not turn up in the US for as long as 7-8 days. Also the US customs now taking longer, it could be 3-4 days, whereas before 24 hrs would be pretty normal processing time. I wonder if it has something to do with the current voulume of shipped goods being increased? Also, if anyone here knows of any US Customs processing hubs (airports) other than the SF, NY and Chicago and what zip codes these hubs are servicing?

So I decided to try and test out a few suppliers and 2 packages (out of the 5 I ordered) got returned to them...this is just frustrating. Not only are there delays, but EMS is really cracking down on everything. But just out of curiosity, has anyone else's package gotten returned?
