A package that was not destined for the US, just passing through was seized by customs. What's weird is first it said "customs status updated" and when I checked further details, it said "package has been given a release by customs" but then two days later it says "contact DHL". What does this mean, why did it say "given a release" but then get seized two days later?

Sorry, I forgot to give an update on this. The shipment was NOT seized by US customs. It arrived in the destination (Ireland). It was strange that the Irish DHL people said US customs had seized it and were not going to release it. Thats not what happened at all. But strangely enough, the wrong item arrived, the DHL people mixed it up and somehow sent someone elses item to Ireland, and my item to Hawaii.
