ems is slower, we'll see how this goes

just got a package through ems no problem...weird thing is i couldn't track it until it got here

My DHL package on DHL.COM says Clearance Delay in New York, never had packages go through New York.

But DHL-USA.COM, the site reps say to use when I call for information, shows that it left New York.

So we shall see.

Neither of those 2 sites are ever on par with each other. But, DHL.com tends to be more accurate and up to date.

I got the same with dhl
so its been a few days i called the dhl agent they said there are customs delays on all incoming packages!
What the hell is going on?
i bought some PBS dvd's for educational purposes for school as a donation.

IMO ems is safer...unless its my stroke of luck... Cause dhl has been regulating on me for the past month...

I've never had a problem with DHL until now, and its the first time I've EVER had a DHL package go through NEW YORK, I really think that has something to do with it.

yup 2 days ago I got the clearance delay crap, It usually goes to ohio then ny.


This time it went straight to new york. Where I'm from, but they still did one of their fellow new yorkers dirty...lol

I had exactly the same problem here.

interesting because i have several boxes en route now, where my contacts swear they were mailed but i cannot track them on EMS yet. i am suspecting that once they hit the USPS system they will show.

EMS has serious delays in updating, even sometimes only updating once they arrive in customs. You have nothing to worry about, it's all normal.

only 20 of the 590 items are ordered may be trademark violations as I know these 20 have a logo on it and the seller failed to send me the ones w/o logo.

Would I get the rest of the items or they will seized the whole shipment??
Your input is truly appreciated, this is just my 3rd order and I am restless waiting for this items as I need to fill orders.

Depends on the Item, It isn't Just logos that are Copyright Protected, In some cases Designs BOTH Functional and Artistic are Protected,,,For Example,,an Intel Core i7 cpu The Way it is Actually built is Copy Protected as well as the "Intel" Logo, and Louis Vuitton Hand Bags the artistic Design Pattern is Copy Protected as well as the Famous "LV" logo

I am in the exact same boat. My shipment is being held there too as of April 5. And my supplier isn't very helpful right now. Wants me to wait 5 more business days and gave me a tracking number that this happened to last month. Dude got his package a week later after the clearance delay.

Well at least it sounds like we have some hope, my other and best scenario is that China had a long 4 day weekend last week and they must be backed-up at NY with all the packages coming in at once. I hope this is the case... anyhow please post all your updates and I'll do the same...

All the stuff I ordered were cheap cellphone cases, however I am only scare for 20 pcs of a particular model they are sending me with the Apple logo on it... I hope that if they open my box, they take this cases out and send me the rest ...:pry:

I just called DHL and it is in fact on hold for a customs inspections, I asked if this was a ramdon search they do, which she responded that when they see certain items such as cell phones accessories... they do check.. asked me to check again tomorrow and if they don't release it will be by Monday... :shocked:

I think they are doing some cracking down these past 2 months in ny, I had 20 items seized also.....


Someone must be trying to get a raise....lol

Yeah, mine went to New York and got jacked by customs.

I have never had a DHL go through New York, so kiss any DHL thats goes through New York gone.

Usually they go through OHIO Hub first then to New York, if they come into New York first there toast.

I called and they forwared me to the imports department, there they told me the item was a trademark violation, and they will run an investiagation that can take up to 30 days where they contact the owner of the trademark to verify it as a counterfeit item and I would a. receive a letter with the outcome or b. they would release the package.

However, I have had 4 packages since come through to the same name and address since without a problem.

All coming through OHIO, seems going through NY is the problem.

So you can Positively say that after ONLY 1 Package?

That is the Type of Post that causes Unnecessary Concerns,,,How can you make a Statement Like that,,and State it like it is a Stone Cold Fact?,,,,

Let me Post a STONE COLD FACT:

Over the 10 Plus years that I have been selling online I also Had a Few (7 maybe 8)Packages Seized by N.Y. Customs, but have received Hundreds with NO Problem,,

I find No Difference in the Seizure Ratio compared to when they go to Cincinnati first

How big was the box that got jacked? mine is 60lbs I think that was my mistake I should have send two 30lbs instead of a big one.

Also I know I have 590 items total in my box and I am 100% sure that out of the 590 items only 20 are trademark violations, I was bringing in cellphone cases, and yes 20 had the Apple logo in it... Can anyone tell me if I am toasted for all 590 pieces or they will just hold the 20 items and send me the rest??? anyone?

Im saying that every member here that posted there DHL package was seized was because it went to New York first.

EVEN members that LIVE IN NEW YORK, there packages normally go through OHIO first. When they went to NY first they were taken.

So yes, from my expierence, and those of SEVERAL others that have posted, if the item goes through New York first and hits a clearance delay its gone.

If its not stopped for a delay, then it may be fine, I am only talking about packages that when tracked result in Clearance Delay for more than 24 hours.

Well I also Live in Ney York, and as I posted Customs at the NY Gateway is NO different that Cincy,,,

You also must remember that 99% of the Members who post here are Posting about things that are going Bad in order to share that with other Members and to find Solutions,,There are VERY Few Posts about things going well,,what would be the point of that?

When there are a Lot of packages Destined for NY and North NJ (NY Metro Area) that can Fill an Entire Plane there is a 99% Chance DHL will Create a Flight that will go Directly to New York, in order to Ease the Load at Cincinatti and also to Speed up Delivery and Save Money,,,So get used to it,, this Happens Fairly Often,,

your package is seized by customs.. you will receive communication from them notifying you of the destruction on the goods! time to move on... package is gone!

Clearance processing complete generally means that it has cleared customs. I have never seen a package go through customs twice. So, it looks like you WILL get your package.

I don't understand this. It arrived in Orlando no problem then I called and they claim it was seized by customs? I had that happen once with EMS and it was releases about 6 hours later. Is there a chance that will happen? What is the best approach to take here?

Did the package ever Complete "Cleareance Processing" In Cincinnati?,,,Sometime DHL Will Ship an Uncleared Package to its Next Hub (Stop) and have it get Customs Clearence There,,,This happens a LOT with Packages going to N.Y.

If DHL is telling you the package was seized, it is most likely as good as gone. Usually, when a package is selected to be inspected, "Clearance Delay" comes up if anything at all does. And I cannot imagine that DHL would tell you the package was seized if it was simply selected for inspection. Those are two very different things.

Best approach? Contact your supplier.

I contacted the supplier and was refunded the money after they spoke with DHL which really surprised me.

If the tracking comes up with this " Clearance processing complete at CINCINNATI HUB - USA" Does that mean it is clear and good to go normally ??

Generally speaking, yes. 99.9999% of the time, once you see "Clearance processing complete" you will get the package. But there is always a chance, although very small, of the package being lost, or updated incorrectly.

My point in posting this is, that it is NEVER safe to list merchandise for sale until you ACTUALLY HAVE IT IN YOUR HANDS when it comes to importing.

In addition to that, if the package contents are illegal, the package may STILL be recalled after clearance processing is complete. That would happen if they flag the supplier. Customs can ask DHL to stop any packages still in their system (i.e. on their trucks) from that supplier from being delivered. It is RARE, but it happens.

looks like i have my first goner in 6 months. i just reuppd this po box too 7 days inbound... no double customs notes and hell china ems doesnt even show it arrived in usa... but usa tracking says arrived jfk/inbound... i hate when it goes inbound, always a huge risk. i like it when it skips inbound all together

Yep, i dont do that anymore lol Stopped after the last time i had some seized. It's all good, just dispute and buy again :)
