Dreaded DHL Clearance delay
 

Get packages weekly with DHL, they go through the OHIO hub first and then come to Canada.
This time the package got stuck in OHIO? even though its not destined for USA? wtf?

Clearance delay for a few days and now it says please call customer service.. since when do U.S customs inspect Canadian bound packages?

It will be interesting to see what the outcome is, since the package is bound for Canada.

I don't think that US Authorities have the right to seize packages that were shipped from outside the USA and destined for another country. But I don't know that for a FACT.

That is why I never ship anything with DHL, they are the worst shipping company in the world. They have lost or stolen so many packages from me. I even once worked for them, they stuff that I have seem is beyond reason.

I always ship something overseas I always look for EMS shipping. Never had any problems with them and they tend to be cheaper. But even if the price is a bit more expensive I would not bother with DHL.

Can't agree with you there, I have got over 30 Packages with no problems and really fast with DHL, this is the first time that it looks like its been seized, EMS is way too slow and unreliable, if there is even a letter off on your address ( which these china suppliers can easily screw up) they send the box to sender and don't allow you to fix the problem over the phone..

It MIGHT have come from the China Shipper who is having issues paying their bill in China.
DHL Stopped ALL this persons shipments no matter where they were.

I am only going on with what I saw when I worked for DHL in Las Vegas, NV operations when they where operating in the US. I do agree that EMS is a bit slower then anyone else but never had any problems with them. I buy my stuff from china also. China, the world's swap meet.

I am sure that this is due to that shipper issue discussed on threads. OHIO will not stop packages destined for Canada due to f*ke issue or whatever - that's the duty of Customs Clearance Canada.

Called DHL and they confirmed U.S customs do check the package even if its destined for Canada.

Some weird sh*t going on though, DHL claims the package was released from customs on the 24th but the tracking is stuck at clearance delay and shipment stopped. Got a trace going.. we'll see

You will get your package. I had that issue last week where I had several packages that cleared customs and then got put on hold. After a few days I contacted DHL and they put a trace on it. It was on my doorstep within 2 days. Hang tough you will get it!

shipper issue?

Yes,i also sound this recently .

This is not a shipper problem, my box was seized by U.S Customs. My supplier confirmed that US is having a CF Seizing week

my supplier wont send DHL right now... he just told me

oh crap and I just ordered some stuff from china that might or might not be counterfeit. I just ordered a small test sample. I hope US customs does not seized it. I have some packages coming with EMS and DHL.

Just an FYI....

A common myth is that customs seizes only counterfeit items.

But the fact is, it is illegal to import any copyrighted or trademarked material for re-sale unless you have a letter of authority from the rights owner.

So whats the word are they still on a seizing frenzy?

Anyone still having trouble with DHL?

I had 16 boxes make it through Cincinnati last week with no problems....

I've never seen anything like that at all. Have you called and talked to anybody about that? If so what did they say?

Thought a clearance delay was a seizure...

My packages that were being held for shipment in Hong Kong were all delivered to me last week. I placed another order yesterday, and my supplier assures me they problems with DHL have been resolved.

Slapped... I have never seen anything like that. I have seen a clearance delay, but never one that lasts more than one day. Its usually just a couple hours, then it starts moving again. I'd have to guess that a clearance delay of that timeframe means either the package has been seized, or it has been lost by DHL. I'd have to go with seized as an educated guess. I would be on the phone with DHL as soon as possible, if I was you. Good luck.

Yes i've called, they tell me that the Package is Delayed Not Seized or Lost or any Import taxes or anything like that due,,so i ask at What point can we call it a Loss?,,,she did not know the awnser

I just think it is a Little odd, and Funny, My supplier and I got past this Package a Long time ago, i just cannot help but wonder,,,,

That is weird. Every time I have had a issue like that when I call into DHL they always assign a team member to perform a inquiry directly to the center and then they call with the information. I've found the customer service to be outstanding.

Why new york?? If you refresh it, sometimes it lists clearance delay as newest update. But they are all 21:47 god i hope this dhl makes it heh

What is wrong with New York? DHL Packages Not allowed there or Something?

I've never seen new york on any tracking i've had...

Every once in a While they do go Directly to N.Y. Gateway, It is a Little tougher a Customs Check in N.Y. that's for sure, more Packages do get seized

I just called "Physical inspect 3-5 days" so yeah that's GG..... Already contacting the supplier. Man that's 2 address in less than 9 months. I guess it's back to DHL to PO box and making them call me for a street address for awhile lol... if you didn't know that trick.It does work, if your supplier will send to your PO box, DHL will call you and ask you for a physical address when it's on the truck. My supplier said he has never seen NY gateway.


Now how to explain to a relative they might get a certified letter... heh And no i didn't use my name.

Why would you use a relatives name? You should never involve your family in anything like this as that puts them in jeopardy. What if the box that got seized had P90X in it. They would get a letter from Johnson and Pham threatining to sue them.

If you want packages to not come in your name just use a stealth name. Then the first time a package shows up and your not home the driver will normally leave you the paperwork to fill out for signature on file. Then after you fill it out you will never have to sign for anything ever again. That is what I do and never had any problems. Plus it's not like they actually check for id or anything when they deliver the package.

Anyone know what's up with DHL right now? are they still seizing? i've switched to UPS for now but not liking the extra shipping costs!

Same date range as my package and mine was confirmed seized, i'm pretty sure yours is gone as well.

I've gotten a total of 10 packages though DHL and they went through Cincinnati with no problems.

and no, i don't do p90x or cd's... Hell not even in one of the top seized category's and that's 3 for me in the last year

You still should NEVER use a Relatives Name. oh and by the Way they WILL Get a Letter from Customs, and If they answer it they could get into some serious Trouble.

You see Customs Knows that people use Stealth Names/Addresses have things set up with DHL Drivers,,,Yea thats right Agents Know about all of that,,And then some,,,

So when they send you the letter it says that "You MIGHT have an interest in the Package" if you respond as if you do have an interest you open yourself up to prosecution,,

So if I were you Id let them Know about this situation before the get the letter and respond incorrectly,,

Of course, and no it's not in their name either. Hell it's not even close to their last name. nonetheless they are already informed.

Now DHL have sort the problem in hong kong,so now it is very smoothy to send the goods from there,and even it is faster than perious a lot.

We have been sending 19 packages to US LA and IO without any problem in the two weeks recently.
