Given the ZERO cost for toner, and the much cheaper labels, it has already paid for itself. |

I just changed the label roll last night, it literally took 5 seconds from start to finish.
I think that is a much overlooked feature. :) |

| LoopHole | 07-23-2011 07:20 PM | Ive tried every driver every possible way to make this printer work. But it does not print what so ever unless its selected as Zebra UPS lp2844. And that is when it prints the long tracks of missing print. Im in desperate help someone help me fix this. I feel like throwing this printer out the window right now. |
| LoopHole | 07-24-2011 10:50 PM | Would anyone mind sharing who they bought their zebra printer from. Unfortunately i bought one that does not work with usps paypal. |
| TGMT² | 07-24-2011 11:09 PM | ^^^^^
I bought mine for $10. (from Craigslist) without a power supply, then just used a laptop power supply with almost the same ratings to power it.
The people I got it from said they probably had already ran about 20,000 labels through it.
Amazing to me that it still performs like new. :) |
| LoopHole | 07-24-2011 11:21 PM | I wish i had your zebra printer right now |
| TGMT² | 07-24-2011 11:26 PM | ^^^^^
Where did you get yours? Also what was the cost?
Any chance you can return or exchange it? |

I got mines from ebay. I paid $100 for it. The seller could not be more helpful. He tried about every way just like i did to make it work. I had this zebra printer now for about a month and now he is still letting me return it. He is also paying for return shipping! I haven't left feedback yet maybe that is why he is being so nice. I wish i could leave 10 positive feedbacks for this guy even though his auction said it will work with usps. |

| yellow0102 | 07-28-2011 11:06 PM | Just bought a Dymo labelwriter 450 twin turbo for $100 on sale at staples.
Works like a charm so far :amen:
jbluntz would be happy =} |
| LoopHole | 08-26-2011 01:37 PM | I bought another zebra label printer from another seller. It works like a charm! For people who are buying these make sure you buy the right one. I paid $167 for this one and it was worth every penny. It saves SOOOOOO much time! no more cutting out labels with scissors and taping them on boxes. Im starting to love this thing more than my girlfriend. |

I'm Glad you FINALLY got it worked out. Quote:

Ive looked into the zebra lp2844 but i see that a lot of people have problems with getting it to work with windows 7. What does everyone else use? | This is the slickest way to go. I have a zebra thermal 2844 I bought used off ebay for $80 bucks. I signed up for a fedex account and order thermal labels for FREE. AKA all my label printing is FREE now. Well of course there was an $80 investment. You can easily cruise through 80 bucks in ink/toner a month. I hope this helps :D |
these thermals sound great
could we print paypal postage labels using these thermal printers? |

If you do large amounts of shipping I would suggest signing up for a stamps.com account. I link all of my ebay/amazon orders through the account. They pop up automatically once the order is received and send buyers notifications once the item is shipped. |
| RedShootingStar | 09-30-2011 04:56 PM | Just bought the Zebra LP2844. Havent configured it yet, but should come in handy, considering I ship 500 packages a day, and during the holidays I would expect 5-10 times this. |
| robsut | 09-30-2011 05:25 PM | does this printer work with amazon |
Hi, I'm a fresh member to the forum. Would anyone recommend this label printer for appro. 10 - 15 labels a day... hoping to increase, and can it print just addresses using microsoft word (copy and paste)? |

Has anyone used p touch editor. How can I print different address labels at one time? |
| GhostOfAmazon | 07-20-2016 02:18 PM | Re: What label printer do you use? I know this thread is as old as sin, but what Thermal Printers are you guys using now? I really don't see any Zebra brand printers pop up when I search "label printers" online.
I'm still using Windows 7, BTW (until they pry it from my cold, dead hands!). |

| mrgazer | 07-20-2016 07:23 PM | Re: What label printer do you use? I use a citizen one unsure on exact model, but has been doing me good so far.
Trust me, stick with a label printer even with the smallest volume, like 5 a day.. It will make your life hell a lot easier.
If you are in the UK, free supplies with royal mail when you use their PPI service. |

I'm still using Windows 7, BTW (until they pry it from my cold, dead hands!). | Im also running Win7 using my Zebra LP2844. Kinda buggy through java though. Im always forced to change the dimensions for EVERY label I print. I've gotten to be a pro at pressing 4+TAB+6+TAB+0+TAB+0. (4x6 with 0/0 borders lol). |
| digim0n | 07-22-2016 01:01 PM | Re: What label printer do you use? The Zebra is pretty expensive though. Appx $250 for a new one or $115 for a used one. I see the Dymo 500 being sold for $75 brand new. Do you guys think this could work just as good as the Zebra?
Currently I print lables from my inkjet computer and it works fine for me. Only problem is that I bought 100 sticky shipping label paper which I print my labels on but they do not stick to the packages very well. I could literally rip off those labels from the packages after having stuck them on so I still need to use tape to secure it. Sort of defeats the purpose of buying sticky shipping labels for your printer. So am I correct to assume that this does not happen with the thermal printer labels?
Or is there a better branded label printer that I could purchase instead and continue using in my inkjet printer? |

I had a bunch of issues in my old laser printed using paper with integrated address labels. The issue was using cheap paper, such as that which swamps your favourite selling sites (it is cheap for a reason). They just buckled when they got hot, and wrapped around the rollers. Not great when they are sticky. New printer please!
My solution was to use a well established supplier of these types of paper as the paper is much thicker so it doesn't curl inside the printer when it is heated (The label adhesive is much better too), and invested in a decent quality laser printer with rear exit tray so the paper has less opportunity to curl up.
Not sure if it is cool to add links here but in the UK, Priory Direct sell the good quality paper, and my laser printer of choice is the Kyocera FS-4100DN. |

Ink for my printer is pretty cheap so I don't think I'll bother to upgrade for some time. Just got that printer too and I don't do a whole lot of printing either. |
