So I bought from dhgate recently and custom open for inspection. The seller wrote the declare value as $180 but custom decide it's worth $1000 and charge me $200 for duty & taxes. Any advice how I should deal with this and what I should do with my orders in the future with dhgate?

Surprised your goods didn't just get seized.

Contact your supplier and tell them exactly what happened.

Good suppliers can get anything through customs no matter what the cost vs. value is.

How was this shipped? EMS? DHL?

It was ems hk. I don't use dhl. Too much hassle. I always want to break the phone in half talking to the customer service at dhl.

Um...here's the break down.

I paid $55 per box and they cost about $399 if you buy in store. There are 6 boxes in that parcel so...no?

Could you describe it as used or refurbished one?Or gift or samples?But you have to ask your supplier making the invoice with stamp and put into the package.
