Hats got seized got a letter

Hello I had about 150 NE hats seized, cause DHL is a fricken lame shipping company.

Ever since the Clearance Delay, and 90 days gone by , I finally got a letter by the CBP saying I have to forfeit the hats. and that they "may" penalized me for the retail value of the hats.

Is there anything I have to worry about?

I thought they would just blacklist my address

Anyone have any insight on this?

My insight is you need to understand better what to buy

YOU are the importer of the phake items so that's YOUR fault.

Blaming the shipping company is incorrect. So is your language describing them.

Bottom line YOU choose to import a branded item.

Anything that goes wrong is on your shoulders.

You may be asked to pay a fine. Address is marked.

Fact this has take 90 days for follow-up suggests they want your blood.

Take an hour or two and read through all the "MY ****Z GOT SEIZED" threads here in the shipping sub forum, you will learn a lot.

If you want me to sum it up and save you some time though....

Nothing will happen. Tear the letter up and go on your way. If your supplier won't reship, call your CC company and dispute the charge. You will get reimbursed.

Don't use DHL...EVER


EMS only. Deal with the fact that it takes a bit longer. Safe > Sorry

150 at a crack is a lot too. Next time order smaller batches. The bigger the box, the more attention it draws from customs.

Gonna need a new address to receive stuff as well. PO Box's at the local USPS office are cheap. I paid $23 for 6 month rental at my USPS office. Use a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ business name. You still have to show your id and what not to open it but all your shipments will look like this:

Dildo's Inc
PO Box 325
City, State, zip

Obviously, if the feds want to find out who is renting the PO BOX, they can, but they're not going to bother unless they seize a package of Heroin or something.

That was my first batch, and ever since then the supplier shipped replacements through EMS.

I have received orders larger than this now,

And have been borrowing addresses

The only reason I hate DHL is even after getting this package seized - I had to use them again for some dre headphones to another location under another name , and they got seized too.

It's like what the freak, the DHL customs takes their job too seriously and want to eff me up lol.

So I am only using Fedex or EMS from now on. Fedex for low profile vero

Myself, I like EMS when I have done orders well in the past though.

I agree this forum is here to educate people. I love the forum and I find it very useful for what I do. It's great as far as info goes on buying wholesale from China (or other places) and reselling.

but let's be honest, some people preach nonsense and exaggerate when it comes to what will happen to you as far as situations like the guy who started this thread is in.

In no way would I not have a lawyer on my side if I was threatened like that with possible fines.

You are going to need to retain someone just to understand whats possibly coming your way.

If dealing with those things would it not be smart to get a lawyer that will work with you BEFORE you get into trouble. The right person can help you properly worth this items like that.
