I would open the ali case and let the shipper sort it out. They want the money more then you do... Think of the taxes and duties as paid as a learning lesson...

If someone buys from me and there is issue with shipping they give 2 ****z about it and file a claim.

Trust me most of these suppliers are not your "mate" or "friend"...

Ok, here is the final update. years later.... :pop2:

The seller opened another DHL account and transferred the bill to the new account.
It took DHL USA forever to take care of the paper work, anyway I was able to get my items, finally after almost 4 weeks.

Houston customs seized about 16 packages of mine about $20k worth of products. US customs Houston office is really really strict lately. Trade mark/copyright items will not be released.

I ordered from the same seller on DhGate, and my package was on the DHL truck our for delivery to my house and was seized by customs. Now I have no idea what to do. I hear that i should contact customs, but who do I contact? Nobody has told me anything. The only reason I know is because I called DHL. Will I ever get my shipment?

I ordered 20 make up brush sets from China, looked for items with NO logo on them. On 3/29-2017, DHL tracking says "please contact DHL". I write to them and they reply and say my package is with customs for inspection and I will get a letter from customs within 30 days.
I get worried and contact the seller to explain and ask if there are logos on the boxes, they reply and say "yes, you didn´t want that". Geeze no I didn´t and now I am probably in trouble because of it. What should I do??:s
The package made it to the delivery center in Houston, but got stopped there.

I have a package that arrive yesterday (sunday at 10:20 p.m.) should i expect to move today? because, so far it only says "custom status updated"

DHL "shipment on hold" possible reasons
1. Miss a flight, a truck and is waiting for the next one.
2. Fail to locate your address. Trust me, it sometimes does.
3. Under physically inspected. Such as trademark or copyright stuff related.
4. Encounter holidays and weekends during delivery process.
5. Sender paid for economy shipping and is schedule to go out next day.
6. There is something to check from the sender (a zip code or something) before continuing delivery.

Maybe the package is waiting for a truck to be headed for the proper destination?

I really don't know as I've never seen that happen.

So this thread hasn’t been updated in a while so I figured since I had this same issue I would post an update. My package was scheduled to be delivered by Wednesday. The package cleared customs Sunday evening and arrived at the local dhl hub early Monday morning. The next line in tracking was just “shipment on hold.” I called DHL to find out what was up and the gentleman on the phone told me everything was good And that it would go out tomorrow (Tuesday) for delivery. He then went on to tell me that this happens all the time and that it can be confusing and drives a lot of calls to the call center and that he felt the tracking should state that it was scheduled for delivery the next day which I found to rather funny.
